Hexaware Technologies shares gained 6% in Tuesday's trade, reaching a day's high of ₹527 on the NSE after the company announced its collaboration with Project NANDA Fellowship. According to latest reports, the stock opened at ₹497.25 against its previous close of ₹497.20, marking a gain of around 5.99% over the previous closing price. The stock surge reflects investor confidence in the company's strategic move into the emerging AI infrastructure space.
The collaboration involves a three-month, fully remote AI fellowship programme that provides developers hands-on experience building open-source infrastructure for the emerging Internet of AI Agents. As per the company announcement, the fellowship is hosted by FAN, the umbrella programme behind Project NANDA, with support from Hexaware as part of its participation in the open agentic web ecosystem. The programme addresses one of the defining technical challenges of the coming decade: how autonomous AI agents discover, verify, and coordinate with one another at scale within agentic AI workflows. The fellowship is built around the technical challenge of enabling billions of AI agents to discover one another, verify capabilities, and coordinate tasks without creating bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
The inaugural cohort brings together more than 10 fellows, including Hexaware engineers and external developers selected from a global applicant pool. Participants receive a competitive stipend, direct mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute code to live, open-source agentic infrastructure rather than simply work on classroom exercises. The program maintains a small cohort size to preserve close mentorship and meaningful contribution for every fellow. Applications for the Project NANDA fellowship are now open to developers worldwide, with a priority review deadline of September 19, 2026. Fellows contribute directly to Project NANDA, an initiative that originated at the MIT Media Lab and is developing foundational infrastructure, standards and reference implementations for an open, decentralised Internet of AI Agents.
For Hexaware, the association serves a twofold objective: helping to train the next generation of AI infrastructure engineers and contributing to the open agentic web and broader open-source community. The collaboration extends the company's engagement with research and developer communities shaping how AI agents will operate in production. The initiative also complements Hexaware's own investments in agentic AI, including its AI delivery layer, Zerovity. The company's participation in Project NANDA's open-source community advances components such as agent discovery, verifiable identity, and secure coordination across organizational boundaries, with fellow contributions feeding directly into the project's broader development efforts.
