HCLTech announced a Global Premier Partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic on Monday to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI across global enterprises. According to reports from HCLTech, the partnership focuses specifically on safety, cybersecurity and governance applications. Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to develop Agentic AI solutions and accelerate deployment of Anthropic's Claude AI models in enterprise environments. The collaboration aims to help businesses move from AI experimentation to large-scale deployment, with secure implementation and governance mechanisms forming a key part of the initiative.
HCLTech's services teams will develop industry-specific solutions powered by Claude, Cowork and Claude Code. As reported by HCLTech, the company will provide secure sandbox environments for enterprise deployments, train client workforces and help organisations adopt AI-native engineering practices. HCLSoftware will become an Anthropic independent software vendor (ISV) partner, embedding Claude capabilities into select enterprise products across cybersecurity, automation, business process applications and application development. These products include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, while the partnership will also enable Actian AI Analyst. The company will also integrate Claude and Claude Code into its agentic software engineering platform, AIForce, for applications including IT support, code remediation and digital employee services. The initiative will also support clients in adopting AI-native engineering practices, training employees and building the organisational capabilities required to operate agentic AI safely at scale.
HCLTech will integrate Claude and Claude Code into its agentic software engineering platform, AIForce, for applications including IT support, code remediation and digital employee services. According to HCLTech, these workflows will include policy guardrails, exception handling and human oversight for high-impact changes. The partnership aims to create smarter solutions for software engineering, IT support, and business workflows, helping companies move from just experimenting with AI to actually using it in their day-to-day work. The unit will also provide secure testing environments and help clients adopt AI-based engineering practices, with the collaboration building on HCLTech's existing capabilities across engineering, data, cloud and software. The partnership is designed to help clients move from AI experimentation to enterprise deployment with a focus on safety and scale.
Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic, stated that AI can only be as useful as it is trustworthy, and that Claude is built to give companies confidence to bring it into their most sensitive work. As reported by HCLTech, she emphasized that the partnership would help integrate Claude and Claude Code into systems used by banks, hospitals, telecom companies and manufacturers. C Vijayakumar, CEO and Managing Director of HCLTech, noted that few technology companies combine the scale of a global systems integrator with the product depth of an ISV, giving them a rare advantage to securely engineer and deploy Agentic AI at scale. He added that the partnership would strengthen the company's ability to deliver business outcomes for clients, with the collaboration building on HCLTech's existing capabilities in AI, engineering, data, cloud and software.
HCLTech reported consolidated revenue of USD 14.8 billion for the 12 months ended June 2026, demonstrating the company's strong financial foundation for this strategic partnership. On Monday, shares of HCL Tech ended 0.5 per cent higher at ₹1,223 on the National Stock Exchange, reflecting positive market response to the strategic partnership announcement. The stock movement indicates investor confidence in the company's ability to capitalize on the growing demand for enterprise AI solutions and its strategic positioning through the Anthropic partnership. The company has more than 223,000 employees across 60 countries, providing substantial operational capacity to support the global partnership initiative.
