Geospatial intelligence startup NeoGeo has successfully raised $20 million in its Series A funding round, according to a senior executive at the company. The round was co-led by Aavishkaar Capital, the fund management business of Aavishkaar Group, and Neev Fund II, a sustainability-focused private equity fund managed by SBI Ventures Ltd, a subsidiary of State Bank of India. As reported by Business Standard, Aavishkaar Capital invested around ₹75 crore, with the balance coming from Neev Fund II. ICICI Securities acted as the exclusive financial adviser for the transaction, ensuring professional guidance throughout the funding process.
According to Brahmam GVS, co-founder and director, strategy at NeoGeo, the company plans to split the fresh capital equally across three priorities: deepening its domestic lead, funding international offices and building software products. The startup already has a presence in West Asia and plans to open offices in Europe and the US within the next three months. While Indian companies expanding overseas have traditionally targeted the US first, geopolitical uncertainty over the past year has prompted several startups to make the Gulf their first international market. The latest funding will enable expansion into international markets across the Middle East and the Americas, as stated in the company's official announcement.
The $20 million capital will enable the firm to deepen its platform and product portfolio through investment in research and development (R&D) and technical capabilities, according to Business Standard. This strategic focus on R&D represents a significant shift from the company's current project-based approach. The funding will also allow the company to strengthen its team across engineering and delivery functions, supporting the scaling of platform business operations. As reported by Mint, NeoGeo is looking to platformise its services, a shift it expects will help scale the business, moving from project-based systems integration towards scalable software products.
The opportunity in India's geospatial analytics market is significant, with the market estimated at $1.81 billion in 2026 and projected to reach $3.55 billion by 2031, growing at a 14.43% compound annual growth rate, according to market intelligence firm Mordor Intelligence. Globally, the market is estimated to be at $108 billion this year and projected to grow at a 12.7% compound annual growth rate to $196 billion by 2031. NeoGeo operates across the entire geospatial value chain, including data acquisition using satellite imagery, LiDAR, drones and ground surveys, data processing, AI/ML-driven analytics, and creation of tech-enabled industry-specific software platforms.
The company has built a portfolio of proprietary platforms including OptiFleet (fleet and network optimisation), GeoBalance (natural resource management), UrbanVista (urban planning and smart city visualisation), and InfraSync (infrastructure asset management). As reported by Business Standard, these platforms enable the company to provide integrated spatial intelligence solutions to government and corporate clients across natural resource management, disaster management, urban governance, utilities, infrastructure and smart cities. By optimising spatial planning, NeoGeo drives climate mitigation through measurable resource efficiency and carbon abatement, while simultaneously enabling climate-resilient development and adaptation through proactive hazard and vulnerability mapping.
