MakeO, the parent company of Indian clear aligner brand Toothsi, has successfully raised ₹90 crore (about $9.4 million) in a funding round led by Singularity AMC, with participation from DSP family office, Genesis and Unispace Ventures. According to reports from Business Standard, the firm stated that the funding reflects investor confidence in its mission to build a world-class aligner and dental technology platform for India and Southeast Asia. The Mumbai-based startup will use the fresh capital to expand its offline presence across India and Southeast Asia and strengthen its manufacturing operations, while also investing in consumer experience, clinical centres, and backend technology. As reported by ET, the company plans to use the capital to strengthen its manufacturing and technology facility in Mumbai, integrate operations following its acquisition of the Singapore-based dental care startup Zenyum, and expand its network of offline clinics through organic growth and acquisitions.
The fundraise follows MakeO's acquisition of Singapore-headquartered Zenyum, expanding its presence across Southeast Asia. As reported by Business Standard, the group now has approximately 1,100 partner dentists across 10 countries. In 2025, MakeO also acquired Apple Dental for ₹10.9 crore in a cash-and-stock deal, a 20-clinic chain in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana that strengthens its presence beyond major Indian metros. Following the Zenyum acquisition, the combined group operates more than 60 offline clinical centres and has served over 4 lakh consumers. According to ET, the company plans to use the capital to integrate operations following its acquisition of the Singapore-based dental care startup Zenyum, and expand its network of offline clinics through organic growth and acquisitions.
MakeO's unified platform has scaled to revenue of more than ₹500 crore and turned EBITDA profitable earlier this year. According to Business Standard, with this raise, the company aims to double its revenue in the next two to three years. Dr Arpi Mehta, group CEO and co-founder of MakeO, stated that the capital will be allocated towards further organic and inorganic offline expansion across both India and Southeast Asia. The startup's expansion plans come amid projected growth in India's clear aligner market, with Market Research Future projecting the market to grow from $466.99 million in 2025 to $2.83 billion by 2035, at a CAGR of 19.74%.
MakeO operates an integrated planning and manufacturing hub in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region that produces more than one million US FDA-approved aligners annually. As reported by Business Standard, the facility serves dentists and consumers across more than 150 Indian cities and exports to over 10 countries through the Toothsi and Zenyum networks. Dr Pravin Shetty, co-founder of MakeO, emphasized the company is building a digital and AI-first dental-orthodontic platform with an aligner product manufacturing facility featuring a 3D virtual AI-based orthodontic treatment planning centre of excellence. According to ET, the company plans to use the capital to strengthen its manufacturing and technology facility in Mumbai.
Manjul Jain, co-founder of MakeO, highlighted that the raise enhances the company's ability to design and manufacture world-class products using 3D printing technologies and robotic automation in Mumbai. According to Business Standard, the company is actively evaluating relevant dental and aligner M&A opportunities across India and Southeast Asia as it expands its offline presence. The strategy centers on a 'Make in India, for the world' approach to revolutionize the global aligner and oral care category. MakeO had previously raised over $100 million from investors including Eight Roads Ventures, 360 ONE Asset, and Paramark Ventures, with earlier fundraises including ₹100 crore in June last year and a $16 million round led by 360 ONE Asset and the investment office of Ashish Kacholia in January 2024.
