Fashion quick commerce platforms are implementing comprehensive expansion strategies to capitalize on the upcoming festive season surge. According to reports from Business Standard, platforms including Zilo, Knot, and NewMe are adding thousands of new styles and strengthening their delivery networks to capture a larger share of festive spending. The expansion is driven by expected demand spikes from weddings, parties, festivals, family gatherings, travel, and gifting activities.
Zilo is expanding its network through an omnichannel model that connects brand and mall stores with its dark stores. As reported by Business Standard, the platform currently operates across Mumbai, Thane and Vashi, and had integrated more than 150 brand stores across Mumbai by early August, planning to reach around 250 by mid-September. The platform currently maintains around 120,000 stock keeping units (SKUs), with CEO Padmakumar Pal noting that brand store integration will increase from 50-70 styles per brand to 500 styles per brand.
According to Business Standard reports, Zilo's assortment has expanded four-five times over the past two-three months ahead of the festive season. The company plans to add categories such as fragrances, watches, home and eyewear, while working on thematic selections to help consumers put together outfits for specific occasions. Knot is focusing on increasing inventory depth while expanding through exclusive brand outlets, adding dark stores in Parel (Mumbai) and Navi Mumbai alongside its existing Andheri network, and plans to add over 50 brands and more than 20,000 new styles for the festive period.
As reported by Business Standard, NewMe is planning 8-10 new collection drops over the next three-four months and expects to add 2,500-3,500 new styles during the festive period. The platform currently launches around 500 new styles every week, with CEO Sumit Jasoria noting that launching new collections every week is part of their business as usual approach. NewMe plans to open 20-25 new stores across India over the next three-four months and increase warehouse capacity and humanpower in anticipation of higher demand.
According to Business Standard reports, fashion Q-Com platforms are not relying on aggressive discounting strategies. Zilo stated it does not intend to compete through deep discounts, instead focusing on convenience, selection and home trials. Knot is similarly looking at targeted offers and loyalty rewards rather than blanket discounts. The platforms emphasize their ability to deliver products within 1-3 hours with trial-at-home convenience, positioning themselves as convenient alternatives to traditional retail during the festive season rush.
