Circle, a managed customer-to-customer (C2C) marketplace for pre-owned goods, has raised ₹25 crore in seed funding led by Nexus Venture Partners. According to reports from Business Standard, Economic Times, and Founders India, the funding round also included participation from existing investors Titan Capital, Myntra co-founder Raveen Sastry, and Delhivery COO Ajith Pai. The company was founded in 2025 by Chirag Kataruka and Ankit Misra. Circle operates as a Bengaluru-based marketplace helping consumers buy and sell second-hand goods through a managed platform that covers products such as smartphones, gaming consoles, cameras, furniture, watches, handbags and sneakers.
In its first year since launch, Circle has demonstrated strong market traction with ₹25 crore in facilitated pre-owned sales. As reported by Business Standard, the platform has attracted more than 1 million visitors and generated 100,000 listings from Bengaluru alone. The company reports that sellers on its platform typically find a buyer within three days, significantly faster than traditional classifieds where listings can take weeks or months to sell.
Circle has achieved notable user engagement metrics, with nearly 40% of buyers returning within 90 days and half of sellers listing again. According to Ankit Misra, co-founder of Circle, these statistics indicate that buying and selling pre-owned goods is becoming a regular part of users' lives. The platform addresses common challenges in India's pre-owned market including unreliable product information, limited verification, logistical hurdles, and payment risks that make traditional transactions difficult.
Circle combines AI-native technology, human verification, and managed fulfilment to operate C2C commerce at lower costs. The company's model reduces manual effort for users and unlike traditional resellers, does not own inventory, allowing a larger share of transaction value to remain with buyers and sellers. Circle positions itself as a full-stack resale ecosystem that leverages AI-led verification, guided pricing, catalog matching, secure payments, and managed doorstep logistics to eliminate uncertainty, scams, and haggling that often plague traditional resale markets. The platform uses technology, product verification, secure payments and logistics to make resale transactions more convenient.
The new funding will be used to accelerate Circle's expansion beyond Bengaluru, improve its product discovery and pricing technology, and strengthen its logistics network. According to Chirag Kataruka, co-founder of Circle, the company's ambition is to help 100 million Indians buy and sell with confidence on Circle. The platform's mission is to enable 100 million Indians to participate in circular commerce, helping households unlock affordability, reduce waste, and earn more from what they already own. Circle is also looking to build customer trust through verification services and physical Trust Hubs as it grows into more markets.
