Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has purchased nearly 25.7 acres of land in Mulshi taluka near Pune, Maharashtra, for a total consideration of ₹16.42 crore. According to reports from CRE Matrix, the acquisition comprises four adjoining land parcels located in Pimpri village, with the sale agreement officially registered on April 30, 2026. The transaction attracted ₹82.13 lakh in stamp duty as confirmed by property registration documents. The registered sale deeds reveal that the sellers were Arun Sriram Luthra, Naveen Sriram Luthra, and Mala Umesh Mehta.
The newly acquired property consists of four adjoining plots covering a combined area of 1,04,000 square meters (approximately 25.7 acres). As reported by CRE Matrix, the first land parcel measures 21,400 square meters and was purchased for ₹3.31 crore, attracting ₹35.40 lakh in stamp duty. The second spans 29,900 square meters and was acquired for ₹4.62 crore, with ₹23.13 lakh stamp duty. The third parcel, measuring 43,800 square meters, was purchased for ₹7.07 crore, attracting ₹35.40 lakh stamp duty, while the fourth parcel covers 8,900 square meters and was acquired for ₹1.39 crore. The largest acquisition involved a ten-acre plot bought for over seven crore rupees.
According to CRE Matrix, this acquisition adds another significant asset to Kapoor's growing real estate portfolio, following his recent land purchase in Ayodhya earlier this year. In May 2026, The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) announced that Kapoor had acquired a 2,134-square-foot land parcel at its 'The Sarayu' project in Ayodhya for approximately ₹3.31 crore. The 75-acre plotted development is located along the banks of the Sarayu River and features a clubhouse, more than 35 lifestyle amenities, and a five-acre fully vegetarian luxury hotel operated by The Leela. Kapoor stated in May that "I believe Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have just answered this calling. Ayodhya is deep rooted in our history and is a critical part of our cultural fabric. This land at The Sarayu became my gateway to ensuring this becomes a part of my legacy for my family."
Kapoor's latest investment reflects a growing trend among Bollywood celebrities who are expanding their real estate portfolios beyond Mumbai. Several actors and public figures have increasingly invested in agricultural and non-agricultural land, holiday homes, and premium residential properties across destinations such as Pune, Alibaug, Lonavala, and Goa. Apart from Kapoor, personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, who purchased a 15,000 square feet land parcel at The Sarayu by House of Abhinandan Lodha for ₹15 crore, have also made significant land investments in different parts of the country, highlighting the increasing appeal of premium real estate as a long-term investment.
The Mulshi region has emerged as one of Maharashtra's most sought-after destinations for land investment, driven by its scenic landscape, decent climate, and steadily improving road connectivity towards Pune and Mumbai.
