Krisumi Corporation has commenced development of The Forest Reserve and The Forest Reserve-II under Phases 5 and 6 of its Krisumi City township in Sector 36A, Gurugram. According to reports from Business Standard, the company, a joint venture between Japan's Sumitomo Corporation and India's Krishna Group, will invest over ₹1,300 crore in the development and expects to generate revenue of over ₹4,000 crore. The two phases together comprise 542 units at the company's 33.38-acre integrated development. The commencement was marked by a bhoomi pujan ceremony, signaling the official start of construction.
The development will feature residences ranging from approximately 2,166 sq. ft. to 3,993 sq. ft., with prices starting at approximately ₹4.9 crore, depending on configuration and applicable charges. As reported by Business Standard, the project is designed by Japanese architectural firm Nikkei Sekkei and planned as an ultra-luxury residential development featuring 2, 3 and 4 LDK residences. The project spans approximately 1.67 million sq. ft. and is located along the Dwarka Expressway, providing connectivity to destinations across Gurugram and Delhi. The residences will combine expansive living spaces with emphasis on Japanese spatial planning, functionality and nature-inspired design.
According to Business Standard, Ashok Kapur, chairman of Krisumi Corporation, stated that the commencement marks an important milestone as the development brings together Japanese craftsmanship and Indian hospitality with focus on nature, design and quality. The company expects the development to strengthen its presence in Gurugram's premium residential market. The project forms part of Krisumi City, the company's integrated development in Gurugram, located along the Dwarka Expressway. Residents will have access to The Cascades Club, a 162,000-sq-ft club within Krisumi City, featuring recreational spaces, dining, lounges, spa experiences and an indoor sports arena.
The announcement comes after a report released by CareEdge Ratings in August highlighting India's residential real estate market shift towards premium and luxury housing. As reported by Business Standard, the report showed that houses priced in the ₹1.5-4 crore segment expanded from 14% of launches in Q1 2022 to 44% in Q1 2026, while homes priced above ₹4 crore increased their share from just 1% to 9%. Meanwhile, the share of units priced below ₹1.5 crore fell to 47% in Q1 2026, from 85% in Q1 2022. The launch comes amid continued premium housing development along the Dwarka Expressway, where improved connectivity and infrastructure expansion have supported residential investment.
