The stock's market valuation now stands at ₹4,051 crore, demonstrating continued strong investor confidence in the integrated power cables and transmission products manufacturer. The stock had already gained 26% on its market debut, trading at ₹269 on BSE during intraday highs and ₹262.42 at closing, representing a 25.7% premium over the IPO issue price of ₹214 per share. The stock opened at ₹269 on BSE and ₹250 on NSE, marking strong investor confidence in the company's prospects.
The gains follow a strong response to the company's ₹742-crore IPO, which was subscribed 38.94 times, reflecting broad investor interest in the power infrastructure company. As reported by The Economic Times, the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) category led demand with 92.25 times subscription, while the Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) segment attracted 43.34 times subscription. The Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) segment received 6.59 times subscription. The company had fixed the price band at ₹203-214 per equity share for the public issue, which opened for subscription on July 9 and closed on July 13. The issue received bids for 99.63 crore shares against 2.56 crore shares on offer, with the basis of allotment finalised on July 14 and shares credited to successful applicants on July 15.
Laser Power & Infra has secured a significant contract win with Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEBL) for a turnkey reconductoring project worth approximately ₹4.15 crore, marking the company's first commercial deployment of advanced conductor technology. According to Business Standard, the project involves supply and installation of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors under a turnkey reconductoring project aimed at improving power supply reliability in the Nalagarh Electrical Division, Himachal Pradesh. The order represents Laser's first commercial deployment of advanced conductor technology under its manufacturing agreement with TS Conductor Corp., USA, executed in March 2025. The project will utilize Aluminium Encapsulated Carbon Core Conductors (AECC) manufactured by Laser in India using TS Conductor's proprietary pre-tensioned carbon fibre composite core technology, enabling utilities to carry substantially higher current without requiring additional right-of-way or tower replacement.
The company has entered into a strategic partnership with TS Corporation of the US to introduce advanced conductors in India. According to CNBC TV18, Goel explained that "Without changing those towers, this new technology allows us to replace the old conductors with the new conductors, thereby increasing the current carrying capacity by 2x or 3x." This technology is designed to help utilities expand transmission capacity without replacing existing transmission towers, addressing right-of-way constraints as the country's power network grows. The company's manufacturing business contributes around 75% of revenue, with cables accounting for about 90% of manufacturing sales and conductors contributing about 10%. Within cables, nearly 30% comes from high-tension (HT) cables, while the remainder is low-tension (LT) cables, including supplies to the railways.
Laser Power & Infra reported revenue of ₹2,326 crore and net profit of ₹151 crore for FY26, demonstrating strong financial performance in the power infrastructure sector. The company operates three manufacturing facilities in West Bengal and maintains a robust order book of ₹3,243 crore as of March 31, 2026. According to the company's offer documents, it plans to use ₹490 crore from the fresh issue proceeds to prepay or repay borrowings, with the remaining funds allocated for general corporate purposes. The company operates manufacturing as well as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) businesses, with its product portfolio including power cables, conductors, aluminium wire rods, aerial bunched cables, and other transmission and distribution products used in India's power infrastructure sector.
