EAAA India Alternatives, formerly Edelweiss Alternative Asset Advisors, has filed its red herring prospectus with the Registrar of Companies, announcing its ₹1,200-crore maiden public issue scheduled to open on October 26. The company has now fixed the price band at ₹1,585-1,665 per share, valuing the company at ₹10,765 crore at the upper end. According to the prospectus filed on October 19, the initial public offering comprises an offer-for-sale (OFS) closing on October 28, while the one-day anchor book for institutional investors will open on October 23. The IPO is entirely an Offer for Sale by the Edelweiss Group with no fresh issue component, meaning the company will not receive any proceeds from the public offering, as reported in the regulatory filing.
EAAA India Alternatives has successfully raised ₹360 crore through its anchor book allocation, demonstrating strong institutional interest in the offering. The company allocated 21.62 lakh shares at the upper end of the price band to global and domestic institutional investors. Mutual funds accounted for 61% of the anchor book, with 10 mutual funds participating in the allocation, including HDFC Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, Nippon India Mutual Fund, and Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund. Additionally, overseas institutional investors including Norway's Government Pension Fund Global and asset manager Schroders participated in the anchor book, along with domestic investment firms Carnelian, 360 ONE, Unifi, and Nuvama. This successful anchor book allocation indicates positive market reception for the IPO.
EAAA India Alternatives generates income through three primary streams: management and advisory fees, variable additional returns and general partner (GP) income. Management and advisory fees accounted for around 61% of the company's revenue in fiscal year 2026 (FY26), making them a significant source of income. The stream is relatively stable because it largely comes from multi-year contractual arrangements. The company's fee-paying assets under management (FPAUM) grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 23.4% over the three years to FY26, rising from ₹23,775.8 crore in FY23 to ₹44,710.4 crore in FY26. About 77% of the company's AUM comes from repeat customers, with funds having investment periods ranging from 4.5 to 10 years according to the red herring prospectus.
The issue size has been reduced from ₹1,500 crore that was planned earlier, as per the draft red herring prospectus filed in January 2026. The draft document was subsequently cleared by capital markets regulator SEBI in April 2026. According to the prospectus, promoter entity Edelweiss Securities and Investments is a selling shareholder in the OFS, with the issue proceeds, excluding offer expenses, going to the selling shareholder. In March 2026, Edelweiss Financial Services completed the sale of 4.4 percent of common equity in its arm EAAA India Alternatives for ₹375 crore, demonstrating active monetization of its stake. The company will not receive any funds from the IPO, as reported in the regulatory filing.
Shares of EAAA India Alternatives are expected to list on the stock exchanges on November 2, according to the latest reports. Investors can bid for a minimum of nine equity shares and in multiples of nine thereafter. Accordingly, the minimum investment for retail investors will be ₹14,985, while the maximum investment will be ₹1,94,805. The company has reserved 50 per cent of the offer for Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), 15 per cent for Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) and 35 per cent for retail investors. The basis of allotment is expected to be finalised on October 29, 2026, with the company's shares tentatively scheduled to list on NSE and BSE on November 2, 2026. According to SBI Securities, the IPO is valued at 40.6 times its FY26 earnings at the upper end of the price band, with the valuation appearing to factor in much of the company's growth potential and business strengths.
