Casagrand Premier Builder, the Chennai-based real estate firm, has secured SEBI clearance for its draft document, clearing the path for IPO launch. According to the latest update from NDTV Profit, the company filed its draft papers with SEBI in December 2025 and received the regulator's observations to float the IPO on June 8, 2026. In SEbi's parlance, obtaining observations is equivalent to securing approval to float a public offering, as reported by NDTV Profit.
The company proposed to raise ₹1,200 crore via fresh issue of equity shares, while promoters Arun MN and Casagrand Luxor will be selling shares worth ₹20 crore via offer-for-sale. As per the latest reports from NDTV Profit, the company may also consider a pre-IPO placement to raise up to ₹240 crore, which would reduce the fresh issue size if completed. The fresh issue component will be utilized with ₹250 crore for company debt repayment and ₹650 crore for subsidiary debt repayment and general corporate purposes. The company may also consider raising funds up to ₹240 crore in pre-IPO round before filing the Red Herring Prospectus.
As of September 2025, the company and subsidiaries had total outstanding borrowings of ₹4,913.5 crore on a consolidated basis, as reported by Moneycontrol. The substantial debt burden underscores the company's need for the proposed IPO proceeds to strengthen its balance sheet and reduce financial leverage. The fresh issue component of the IPO will help address these debt obligations while providing capital for future growth initiatives.
Incorporated in 2003, Casagrand Premier Builder claims to be the largest developer in the residential sector and a well-known residential brand in Chennai. According to NDTV Profit, the company has established its presence across Chennai offering projects under the "Casagrand" brand with focus on the mid-end category, while also operating in other cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Coimbatore. As of June 30, 2025, the company has 103 completed projects with a saleable area of 21.79 million square feet, while 57 ongoing projects have a saleable area of 44.10 million sq ft and 21 forthcoming projects have an estimated saleable area of 23.81 million sq ft.
The company's shares are proposed to be listed on both the BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE). Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors Ltd, and DAM Capital Advisors are appointed as the book running lead managers for managing the Casagrand Premier Builder IPO. According to NDTV Profit, apart from Casagrand Premier Builder, the SEBI has also approved IPO papers of Bombay Coated, Bonfiglioli Transmissions, and Swaraj Green Power, indicating a busy period for IPO approvals in the current market cycle.
