Two small and medium enterprises have emerged as key beneficiaries of India's expanding aviation ecosystem, demonstrating exceptional financial performance with return on capital employed (ROCE) above 15%. According to The Financial Express, both companies passed stringent financial quality screens including debt-to-equity below 0.5, positive operating cash flow, and three-year sales and profit growth above 10%. The aviation sector is experiencing significant growth driven by rising passenger traffic, airport expansion, and improving regional connectivity, creating opportunities across the wider aviation ecosystem from charter services to pilot training.
FlySBS Aviation, incorporated in 2020, has demonstrated exceptional growth with a three-year sales compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 111% and profit CAGR of 160%. As reported by The Financial Express, the Chennai-based company achieved FY26 revenue of ₹318.5 crore, representing 64.3% year-on-year growth, with net profit increasing 113.9% to ₹60.7 crore. The company operates private air-charter services with corporate clients contributing 92.17% of FY26 revenue and repeat customers accounting for 87.84%. With ROCE of 32.5% and operating margin of 22%, FlySBS has earmarked ₹80.47 crore of IPO proceeds for six pre-owned aircraft with ₹68.81 crore already deployed.
Flywings Simulator Training Centre, incorporated in 2011, achieved three-year sales CAGR of 33% and profit CAGR of 39% with ROCE of 33.2% and operating margin of 64%. According to The Financial Express, the Gurugram-based company reported FY26 revenue of ₹24.51 crore, up 21.3% year-on-year, with net profit increasing 6.1% to ₹11.43 crore. The company is expanding its training capacity with a new facility at Taloja MIDC near Mumbai housing full-flight simulators and cabin-crew simulators, with two Airbus A320 simulators expected by December 2026 and revenue targeted from January 2027. Additionally, Flywings has secured a long-term arrangement with IndiGo for wheel and brake work with component-MRO revenue expected to reach ₹20-25 lakh monthly by mid-2027.
Both companies have shown strong market performance with share price increases of 19% over the past year. As reported by The Financial Express, FlySBS operates international flights across six continents with 86.7% of FY26 revenue from international travel, while Flywings maintains promoter holding above 30% with no pledging. However, the analysis notes that SME stocks carry higher liquidity and price-volatility risks, with execution being critical for both companies' expansion plans. The aviation sector's growth depends on regulatory compliance, skilled crew availability, and aircraft utilization rates, making financial performance monitoring essential for investors.
