According to Aakash K Hindocha, Vice President - Research at Nuvama Professional Clients Group/Nuvama Wealth, three stocks have been identified as top picks for October 1, 2026. DLF is recommended as a buy with a low price cap of ₹674, stop loss at ₹650, and target of ₹724. Adani Green Energy is suggested with a low price cap of ₹1278, stop loss at ₹1212, and target of ₹1400. PVR INOX rounds out the recommendations with a low price cap of ₹1242, stop loss at ₹1180, and target of ₹1360.
As reported by The Times of India, DLF has been consolidating within a price band for the past 12 weeks, with the stock holding its neck above its 200 DMA as well as 200 WMA. The consolidation pattern suggests an end to this sideways movement on the upside, supported by a higher low structure on charts from the start of this fiscal year. The technical setup indicates a potential 7-8% rally northwards in the coming series.
According to the analysis, Adani Green Energy has retraced 50% of its rally from March 2026 lows to the highs of July 2026. A double bottom formation is in play supported by a dynamic moving average fielding higher, with tailwinds visible on all large Adani group names. The stock is expected to find buyers at the current support zone of 50% retracement, with a 10% rally from current market price anticipated in the coming month.
As reported by The Times of India, PVR INOX has demonstrated a four-year sloping trendline breakout on weekly charts, accompanied by a 200 WMA crossover after 21 months. The stock closed above its previous day's high on Wednesday, marking the 3rd consecutive monthly closing in green. The ongoing breakout pattern suggests the stock is ready for making a fresh swing high on daily and weekly charts, with the breakout continuing to hold.
According to the analysis, Nifty has ended over 500 points lower so far this week and is on track for its 8th consecutive weekly closing in red for the first time in 25 years. The index has met targets of sub 22700 with testing of 200 WMA. The MMI index reading is at sub 20 mark, suggesting extreme fear on indices. A closing above the 200 WMA is needed by today's end to confirm a reversal attempt on Nifty, with level to watch for being 22600.
