Brokerage firm Investec has initiated coverage on Seshaasai Technologies Ltd., a payment solutions provider on Tuesday, July 14, with a 'buy' recommendation and a price target of ₹430. According to reports from CNBC TV18, this is the first 'buy' recommendation for Seshaasai Technologies since its listing back in September 2025. In fact, this is the first coverage that the stock has received from any brokerage firm since its public debut. The target price implies an 18% upside potential from current levels, with Investec valuing the company at 21.7 times its estimated FY28 earnings per share. Shares of Seshaasai Technologies rose as much as 7.37% to ₹394.40 on Tuesday, reflecting positive market response to the coverage initiation.
Investec highlighted Seshaasai's compelling narrative combining market leadership, annuity-like revenue streams, robust cash generation, and emerging growth optionality across new technology verticals. The brokerage firm's bullish sentiment is primarily driven by the company's dominance in the payments card manufacturing sector with a 31.9% market share in FY25. Between financial year 2026-2029, Investec expects Seshaasai Technologies' revenue to grow at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of close to 12%, while Profit After Tax (PAT) could outperform its topline with a 14% CAGR over the same timeframe. The company is anchored by deep relationships with 66 banks, a pan-India footprint and a highly sticky, 97% recurring revenue base, providing strong earnings visibility. Despite rising adoption of digital payments and UPI, Investec believes payment cards will remain relevant as banks continue issuing debit and credit cards, while premiumisation and low credit card penetration in India should support long-term demand.
While Seshaasai is relatively stronger in debit cards with 33.8% market share, the company has successfully diversified beyond traditional payment cards. The company's IoT revenue grew 45% year-on-year and CFS revenue rose 29% year-on-year in FY26, helping offset weakness in card volumes. Investec believes the IoT division is emerging as the next growth engine, with the segment providing RFID-based solutions for inventory tracking, automation and enterprise applications. The brokerage expects the IoT business to benefit from rising digitalisation across industries and forecasts the segment's revenue to grow at a 45% compound annual growth rate between FY26 and FY29. This diversification has become increasingly valuable amid softer card renewal volumes and moderation in new card issuance.
According to Investec, Seshaasai's strong operating cash flow (OCF) profile provides ample headroom to fund future growth investments. The brokerage expects OCF to increase from ₹230 crore in FY26 to ₹350 crore by FY29, comfortably exceeding annual capex requirements. With ₹190 crore of IPO proceeds remaining unutilised as of Q4FY26 for future expansion, the company is expected to generate stronger free cash flow generation with limited reliance on external funding over the medium term. The company has already commissioned key capacity additions across RFID, Payment Solutions and SIM/eSIM segments, positioning it well for continued growth. Investec noted that EBITDA margins have expanded steadily over the past few years through operating efficiencies and scale benefits, while cash conversion has strengthened significantly.
According to CNBC TV18, shares of Seshaasai Technologies are trading 4.85% higher on Monday at ₹385.95 on BSE. The stock has demonstrated exceptional momentum with a 85% rally from its 52-week low of ₹209.05 hit on March 30, 2026. The stock's ₹813 crore IPO had seen subscription of close to 50 times, though it initially listed at a small premium to its issue price of ₹423 before experiencing a sharp sell-off that took it to a post-listing low of ₹209. The latest surge of 7.37% to ₹394.40 reflects positive market response to Investec's coverage initiation.
