Prabhudas Lilladher has issued an 'Accumulate' rating on Paradeep Phosphates with a target price of ₹158 in its research report dated July 31, 2026. According to the brokerage's analysis, the stock currently trades at approximately 12x FY28E EPS, which they consider attractive given the company's growth prospects and backward integration strategy.
Paradeep Phosphates delivered robust financial results in Q1FY27, with consolidated revenue of ₹61 billion, representing a 36% year-on-year growth. As reported by Prabhudas Lilladher, this growth was driven by 4% volume growth and strategic price hikes across its NPK portfolio. The company's EBITDA per tonne improved to ₹7,311 from ₹6,171 in Q1FY26, supported by efficient raw material sourcing and inventory management strategies.
The company faces near-term headwinds from geopolitical tensions in West Asia that are disrupting key shipping routes and resulting in higher freight costs and supply chain uncertainties. According to Prabhudas Lilladher's report, raw material costs are expected to remain elevated in Q2FY27, which may impact margins if additional subsidy support from the government is not received. However, the brokerage expects these challenges to be temporary given the company's strategic positioning.
Paradeep Phosphates is progressing with 1 million tonnes per annum granulation capacity expansion and debottlenecking initiatives at the Paradeep plant, which are expected to support higher volumes from H2FY27 onwards. The company has announced a capex of ₹2.5 billion to establish a 15,000 tonnes per annum Ammonium Fluoride plant, expected to be commissioned over the next 24 months. Additionally, PPL remains on track to double its phosphoric acid capacity to 1 million tonnes per annum by early FY29 from the current 0.5 million tonnes per annum, enabling full backward integration.
Despite near-term margin pressures from elevated raw material costs, Prabhudas Lilladher believes Paradeep Phosphates' increasing backward integration, ongoing capacity expansion, and scale benefits will support sustained earnings growth over the medium term. The brokerage's valuation methodology applies a 13x FY28E EPS multiple, resulting in the ₹158 target price, which they consider attractive given the company's strategic positioning and growth trajectory in the phosphate sector.
