According to reports from Livemint, Chandan Taparia, Head Derivatives & Technicals at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, has recommended three stocks to buy for May 15, 2026. The recommended stocks are National Aluminium Company, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, and NTPC. Taparia's recommendations come as the Indian stock market is expected to open on a flat note following mixed global cues.
As reported by Livemint, the specific target prices and stop losses recommended by Taparia are: National Aluminium Company with a target price of ₹440 and stop loss at ₹403, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise targeting ₹8,600 with stop loss at ₹7,880, and NTPC with target price of ₹420 and stop loss at ₹385. These recommendations are based on technical analysis and market momentum indicators.
According to Livemint, the Indian equity market witnessed a strong short covering rally in the previous session. The Sensex spiked 789.74 points, or 1.06%, to close at 75,398.72, while the Nifty 50 settled 277.00 points, or 1.18%, higher at 23,689.60. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,675 level, showing a discount of nearly 25 points from the Nifty futures' previous close. However, as of May 15, 2026, the benchmark S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 75,238.0, down 0.2%, despite opening higher.
As reported by Livemint, Taparia noted that Nifty 50 formed a bullish candle on the daily frame and negated its lower top-lower bottom formation of the last four sessions. For the Nifty 50 outlook, he suggests the index needs to hold above 23,650 zones for an up move towards 23,850-24,000 zones, with support at 23,450-23,250 zones. For Bank Nifty, holding above 54,000 zones is key for an up move towards 54,500-54,750 levels.
According to Livemint, on the Nifty options front, Taparia observed that the maximum Call Open Interest (OI) is at 24,500 then 24,000 strike, while the maximum Put OI is at 23,400 then 23,500 strike. He noted that call writing is seen at 23,700 then 23,500 strike, while Put writing is seen at 23,400 then 23,700 strike. The option data suggests a broader trading range between 23,200 to 24,200 zones.
