According to Motilal Oswal Financial Services's latest report, Turtlemint Fintech Solutions is expected to clock EBITDA breakeven this fiscal as its operating leverage reaches an inflection point. The brokerage noted that "a fast-growing policy pool, compounding of renewal book and growth algorithm shifting from recruitment to activation and productivity, the operating leverage is at an inflection point." Motilal Oswal expects adjusted EBITDA breakeven in FY27 and margin expansion to around 11% by FY29. The company's ₹883-crore IPO had a price band of ₹144-152 per share, with the company focusing on simplifying insurance policy purchase and management through a network of more than five lakh advisors.
As reported by CNBC TV18, Turtlemint Fintech Solutions has built a scaled, technology-enabled insurance distribution franchise in India with over 5.5 lakh certified Point-of-Sale Persons (PoSPs). The company holds a 30% market share in PoSPs registered via brokers and 16% of total PoSPs in FY25. The PoSP channel provides insurers a cost-effective means to expand distribution across India's underserved regions, with PoSPs growing at a 38% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over FY20-25 compared to 9% for individual agents. The company is present across 19,186 pin codes and has a young distributor base with 61% being below 35 years of age. According to Motilal Oswal's latest research, 75%+ of premiums originate from B30+ markets, positioning the company well to capture growth in India's underserved regions. The company's addition of mutual funds and credit products further strengthens it as a one-stop destination for customers' financial needs.
According to Motilal Oswal's analysis reported by CNBC TV18, the brokerage expects revenue to grow at 35% CAGR during FY26-29, supported by expansion of its digital partner network, higher partner productivity, embedded insurance and a rising contribution from renewals. The brokerage expects 130,000-150,000 partner additions annually, with active digital partners projected to grow at a 24% CAGR during FY26-29, driven by its training-led activation engine and strong partner retention. The company had around 84,000 active transacting digital partners in FY26, up from 63,000 in FY25. A broadly stable 27% take rate should translate into 35% revenue CAGR over FY26-29. As reported by Motilal Oswal, PoSP-driven premiums are growing at nearly twice the industry rate, underscoring the structural relevance of the company's model.
According to Motilal Oswal's latest research, renewal revenue contribution is expected to rise to more than 25% by FY29, with renewal commissions generated from policies that have already been sold and generally not requiring the same customer-acquisition expenditure as new policies. A higher renewal contribution could therefore make the company's revenue base more recurring and improve profitability. The growing share of renewal revenue is expected to support the brokerage's projection of EBITDA margin expansion to around 22% by FY29 from approximately 13% in FY26. The brokerage describes Turtlemint Fintech as a potential turnaround story in India's insurance distribution market, with the investment thesis centering on the company's role in expanding insurance access across Bharat, along with improvements in adviser activation and average ticket size.
As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Turtlemint Fintech in its annual report for FY26 said PoSPs' contribution to premiums is expected to grow at 24-32% CAGR during FY25-FY30, significantly outpacing the industry's growth rate of 10-12%. With over 80% of Digital Partners based in B30+ markets and the large certified PoSP network in the country, the company's tech-enabled PoSP model is well positioned. According to Motilal Oswal, India's insurance penetration remains among the lowest globally against a government target of 'insurance for all' by 2047. Assisted distribution drives 95% of retail insurance sales, underscoring the structural relevance of Turtlemint's model. The company's current valuation appears attractive given the earnings compounding ahead, with the target price premised on September 2028 estimated EV/EBITDA of 20x.
