Rajasthan's industrial investment momentum continues to gain momentum with 449 applications received for 240 industrial plots under RIICO's Direct Allotment Scheme. The applications for the 12th phase of the scheme, which opened on July 15 and closed on July 28, reflect strong investor confidence in the state's manufacturing sector. As per RIICO officials, the 240 plots span around 145 acres and are estimated to be worth around ₹195 crore. A lottery will be conducted on Friday to allot plots that received multiple applications, demonstrating robust demand for industrial land in the state.
The state offers significant investment potential across multiple sectors including renewable energy, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, defence manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and textiles. Srinivas attributed the growing investor interest to the state government's investor-friendly policy environment. The Chief Secretary emphasized that the state's strategic geographical location, extensive national highway network, and connectivity to the Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor offer investors a competitive edge. The latest phase includes 14 industrial plots in the new Boranada Extension industrial area near Jodhpur, which received 31 applications, highlighting growing interest in the state's emerging industrial zones.
According to the Chief Secretary, projects worth more than ₹8 trillion have already undergone ground-breaking, while preparations are progressing rapidly for projects linked to memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024. The allotment process for another 328 plots is underway and has the potential to attract investments of more than ₹1,500 crore. RIICO Managing Director Suresh Kumar Ola confirmed that plots are being made available under the Direct Allotment Scheme to investors who signed MoUs during the Rising Rajasthan event held in December 2024. The scheme allows entrepreneurs to access industrial land quickly, accelerating industrial development across the state.
Over the past two and a half years, 40 new industrial areas have been developed, with a new industrial park being established on average every three weeks. Approximately six industrial plots are being allotted daily, ensuring quick land availability for investors. The government has created a favourable industrial ecosystem by implementing more than 30 sector-specific policies and modern industrial parks are being developed through active private sector participation under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The latest phase includes applications for 14 plots in IT Park Makadwali (Ajmer), 28 in Rundh Sokhri (Alwar), 35 in Borawas Kalawa First (Balotra), 21 in Shri Ram Janaki Industrial Area, Kunjbiharipura (Jaipur), 15 in Dhunwala Industrial Area (Bhilwara), and 51 in Kachariya Industrial Area (Kishangarh).
RIICO's Direct Allotment Scheme has demonstrated remarkable success over its first 11 phases, with 1,986 industrial plots allotted, paving the way for investments exceeding ₹19,700 crore and generating employment opportunities for more than 39,000 people. As part of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024, RIICO launched the Direct Allotment Policy 2025 in March 2025 to accelerate industrial development across the state. The government has significantly streamlined industrial approvals through ease-of-doing-business and deregulation reforms, including making 190 services available online through a single-window system, capping the timeline for land-use change approvals at 30 days, and enabling 24x7 industrial and commercial operations.
