An upcoming elevated road is being planned between the Rajnigandha Underpass and Sector 60 in Noida, with the proposed road being a six-lane corridor expected to cost around ₹700 crore. According to reports from NDTV, the project has moved forward following the approval of its revised alignment, though construction remains on hold as IIT Roorkee prepares the Detailed Project Report (DPR). The route will pass through key areas including Sector 3, Sector 10, the Sector 12-22 T-point, and Sector 57 before ending at Sector 60, where it will connect with Master Plan Road-2. The alignment has been extended by around 1.5 km from the earlier plan, pushing the total length of the signal-free corridor to approximately 6 km.
The elevated road is designed to significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Noida's northern sectors. As reported by NDTV, commuters are likely to cover the distance in 10 minutes during heavy traffic hours, compared to the current travel time of up to 30 minutes depending on traffic congestion. The highlight of the road will be no signals, allowing vehicles to save time by skipping multiple intersections in central Noida. The elevated corridor is planned as a signal-free stretch, allowing vehicles to bypass several busy intersections in central Noida, with the journey that can take around 30 minutes during congestion being reduced to about 10 minutes once the road becomes operational.
The route begins near the Rajnigandha Underpass in Noida's Sector 3 and runs along Master Plan Road-1. According to the report, the road was extended by around 1.5 km from the earlier plan, pushing the total length of the signal-free corridor to approximately 6 km. The Noida Authority approved the revised alignment of the route in July this year, with the road expected to offer a faster route than the existing, overcrowded route for people travelling from the DND side towards Noida's northern sectors. There is no confirmed construction or opening date yet, as the project requires further approvals and contractor selection after the DPR is completed.
The proposed connection is expected to reduce travel time between South Delhi, central Noida, Sector 57, Sector 60 and nearby areas. As reported by NDTV, the road is also expected to curb traffic and bring relief to daily commuters, especially at the highly congested junctions around Rajnigandha and other areas of central Noida. The elevated road will particularly benefit commuters from Greater Noida West and the 7X sectors who currently move through the central part of Noida before reaching the DND road, offering a more direct route to Delhi. The project could also help commuters from these areas travelling towards Delhi, as traffic from these areas often moves through central Noida before reaching the DND route.
