The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, programming, testing and commissioning of the equipment. As reported by CNBC TV18, the contract is valued at ₹149.49 crore and represents a significant addition to GPT Infra's railway infrastructure portfolio. This latest award follows Alcon Builders' earlier success on September 17, when the firm secured a ₹483.72 crore contract from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) for construction of a major railway bridge over the Mahanadi River in Odisha. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the bridge project involves construction of Important Bridge 544, a 32x65.84-metre open web steel girder bridge over the Mahanadi River, as part of the construction of the third and fourth railway lines between the Nergundi-Barang section in the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway.
The bridge contract is valued at ₹409.94 crore excluding GST and is to be executed within 1,095 days from the appointed date. As reported by CNBC TV18, the order has been awarded by the Chief Project Manager, RVNL, Bhubaneswar, and is classified as bridge works for Railways. These consecutive major contracts demonstrate GPT Infra's strong position in India's railway infrastructure development sector.
