Denta Water & Infra Solutions has announced the supply of six tanks for its flagship Mukkumpi lift irrigation project. According to reports from Business Standard, the tanks will be strategically positioned to pump water from the Tungabadra river to recharge ground water and enhance underground water resources. This infrastructure development aims to significantly boost irrigation facilities in the region, particularly addressing the acute groundwater depletion and high chemical concentration in deep aquifers in the Kalyana-Karnataka region, particularly Koppal district. The initiative involves channelizing Tungabhadra River floodwaters into regional networks to optimize local irrigation and restore dried-up aquifers, with schemes designed to divert surplus river runoff during monsoon seasons into local tank systems serving as critical ecological and civil engineering solutions.
The six tanks designated for the project include Hirebenakal Tank, Venktagiri Tank, HRG Camp Tank, Lingadalli Tank, Mukumpi Tank, and Chikkbenakal Tank. As reported by Business Standard, these tanks will work together to create an integrated water pumping system that will draw water from the Tungabadra river and distribute it through the underground water network to enhance irrigation capabilities. The deployment of these six distinct tanks ensures a systematic network to feed downstream water infrastructure, with the project being heavily linked with minor irrigation schemes under local administrative oversight. This flagship project demonstrates Denta Water's technical capability in Design-Build-Operate-Transfer models, though the company remains highly sensitive to political and administrative timelines.
For the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, Denta Water reported consolidated revenue of ₹60.97 crore and net profit of ₹11.17 crore. The company's consolidated revenue declined by 12.67% YoY (derived: ₹60.97 crore vs ₹69.81 crore) in Q1 FY27, which management attributes to administrative delays during the state government transition. Net profit declined by 39.79% YoY (derived: ₹11.17 crore vs ₹18.55 crore) in Q1 FY27 due to delayed milestone realizations. Despite these challenges, the company has recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50 per share for FY26, with the eligibility record date set for September 16, 2026. The Board of Directors approved the Q1 FY27 financial results on August 13, 2026, alongside recommending a final dividend of ₹2.50 per share (face value of ₹10), with the company's 10th Annual General Meeting scheduled for September 24, 2026.
The project represents a comprehensive approach to water management, focusing on ground water recharge and underground water enhancement. According to the company announcement reported by Business Standard, this initiative will boost irrigation facilities in the region by creating a sustainable water supply system that utilizes both surface and ground water resources effectively. While Denta Water is executing strategically crucial water infrastructure schemes, investors must monitor whether improved milestone billings translate into stronger cash conversion over the upcoming quarters. The company faces ongoing challenges including delays in government payment disbursements affecting cash flows, auditor observations regarding the pending reconciliation of trade receivables and trade payables, and monsoon-dependent execution cycles. However, the successful commission milestones on the 6 Mukkumpi project tanks demonstrate the company's technical capability, and steady project execution on marquee initiatives is essential to rebuild market confidence.
