
The Karnataka government has approved 55 industrial projects involving investments of ₹7,506 crore that are expected to create more than 28,000 jobs across the state, according to media reports. The approvals were granted by the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) at its meeting held on June 19. Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil announced that 41 of the approved projects will come up outside Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts under the state's 'Beyond Bengaluru' initiative, which aims to promote industrial growth across other regions of Karnataka. The committee meeting was attended by senior officials including Industries department principal Secretary S Selvakumar, commissioner Khushboo Goel, KIADB CEO Govinda Reddy, industries department's investment promotion agency Udyoga Mitra MD Dodda Basavaraju and other senior officials.
Among the biggest investments cleared by the committee are Kaynes Electronics' ₹495 crore project in Chamarajanagar district, SFO Technologies' ₹490 crore investment in Doddaballapur, Orbit Industrial Parks' ₹454 crore project in Kolar, Terra Circuits' ₹441 crore investment in Vijayapura, Bellatrix Aerospace's ₹404 crore project in Bengaluru Rural and JSW Port Logistics Pvt Ltd's ₹380 crore investment in Ballari. Other major proposals include Shahi Exports' ₹337 crore project in Kalaburagi, Infragalaxy's ₹300 crore investment in Dakshina Kannada, Hi-Tech Metallics' ₹250 crore project in Vijayapura, Praxair India's ₹210 crore investment in Hoskote, Sobha Realty's ₹201.1 crore project in Bengaluru Urban and RMZ's ₹198.6 crore investment in M Hosahalli, Hoskote. Most of the approved projects are in the aerospace, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and general engineering sectors.
The committee also approved investments by four foreign companies that will together invest ₹314.4 crore, with their projects expected to create 503 jobs. According to the minister, Taiwan-based Teaming Automation, South Korea's YJ Link, Germany's Revum and Japan-based Shinko will invest in various sectors. Most of the approved projects are in the aerospace, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and general engineering sectors.
Of the 55 projects, 35 involve investments exceeding ₹50 crore each, while another 15 projects fall in the ₹15 crore to ₹50 crore investment range. In addition, five companies have received approvals for expansion projects involving a combined investment of nearly ₹224 crore. The Karnataka government said the approved projects are expected to generate more than 28,000 employment opportunities while supporting industrial growth beyond Bengaluru and strengthening the state's position as a manufacturing and technology hub.
Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda announced that trial runs on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (Blue Line) Metro corridor will begin in October 2026, targeting operations from KR Pura to Marathahalli and potentially up to HSR Layout. The minister said the 7.5-km elevated stretch of Pink Line between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere will be operational by August 15, 2026, while the 13.7-km underground section from Tavarekere to Nagawara is slated for completion by March 2027. He added that the Hebbal-Airport section of Blue Line is targeted to become operational by June 2027, with the remaining Hebbal-KR Pura stretch expected to be completed by December 2027. The minister noted that worksite management along the Outer Ring Road has improved, with reduced occupation of road space and less construction debris, though he directed officials to minimize land acquisition and ensure construction debris does not aggravate Bengaluru's waste-management challenges.
