The Telangana government's renaming initiative has received a significant technological boost with Google Street View integration for the newly christened 'Donald Trump Avenue'. According to the latest reports, this digital enhancement reinforces the symbolic gesture marking 250 years of American Independence. The road, which was earlier known as US Consulate Road, was renamed in December 2025 by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, with the ceremonial plaque inaugurated at an event titled 'Freedom 250' attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
US Ambassador Sergio Gor highlighted the significance of the renaming, stating that 'Trust is the foundation of the India-U.S. relationship, and that trust is creating new opportunities across trade, defence, technology, pharmaceuticals, space and investment'. As reported by NDTV, Gor emphasized that the India-US relationship was entering a new phase of strategic depth, with Washington and New Delhi working 'hand in hand' on issues of global importance. He noted that the relationship had gained fresh momentum under the leadership equation between Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting the naming symbolizes the 'strong bilateral ties championed by the US President'. Gor also highlighted the Hyderabad consular district's contributions and continued relevance for strategic cooperation, noting 'Nowhere is the high-speed trajectory of our partnership more evident than in Hyderabad'.
Deputy CM Vikramarka cited growing cooperation in technology, investment, innovation, higher education, clean energy and cultural exchanges between the two nations. According to NDTV, Vikramarka emphasized the personal connections between Hyderabad and America, stating that 'America is not just a country on the map for Hyderabad families. It is a son in Boston, a daughter in New Jersey, a friend in Seattle or a founder in Austin'. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad's long-standing technology ties with the United States, recalling the city's journey from attracting Microsoft in the 1990s to producing global leaders such as Satya Nadella. He noted that 'This is no longer just an outsourcing story. It is a partnership of co-creation', pointing to cooperation in artificial intelligence, life sciences, clean energy, vaccines, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
US Ambassador Sergio Gor announced significant progress in bilateral cooperation, stating that 'With our interim trade agreement and Mission India on track to bring over $20 billion of new investment to the United States, we are proving that America First does not mean America alone'. As reported by NDTV, the inauguration was attended by US Consul General Laura Williams, Telangana ministers, officials, business leaders and members of the diplomatic community. Consul General Williams, presiding over her first Independence Day reception in Hyderabad, hailed the region's pivotal role, stating that 'Hyderabad's innovation ecosystem, spanning aerospace, defence, artificial intelligence, and biopharma across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, is shaping the global future'. Vikramarka concluded by saying 'May this avenue carry many journeys - of students, scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, diplomats, families and dreamers'.
