
Girija Subramanian has joined the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) as a whole-time Member (Distribution). According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, Subramanian officially joined the insurance regulator on Monday. Her appointment brings the total number of whole-time members at IRDAI to four.
Subramanian brings significant industry experience to her new role, having previously served as former chairperson of National Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC). As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, this background in agricultural insurance provides valuable expertise for the distribution-focused member position.
With Subramanian's appointment, the current composition of IRDAI's whole-time members includes Rajay Kumar Sinha as Member (Finance & Investments), Swaminathan S Iyer as Member (Life), and Deepak Sood as Member (Non-Life). According to the insurance regulator's release, Debasish Prusty continues to serve as a part-time member of the Authority.
