Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed establishing an International Mobilisation Partnership for Accelerating Connectivity and Trade (IMPACT), a platform designed to combine G7 capital, India's talent pool and the ownership of partner countries in the Global South. Speaking at the G7 Summit Outreach Session on 'Reviving a Balanced, Shared and Sustainable Economic Growth for All' in Evian, Modi said the success of large-scale connectivity projects could be replicated in other regions of the Global South to boost trade, infrastructure development and economic integration. As reported by NDTV Profit, Modi asked whether similar connectivity projects could be taken up with countries in Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands, specifically asking "Like the vision of IMEC, can we work on connectivity projects with countries in Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands?"

According to PM Modi's departure statement, India's presence at the G7 reflects the trust its partners place in the country and its rising global profile. At the G7 summit, PM Modi called for new international support mechanisms to help developing countries absorb global shocks, arguing that the burden of supply-chain crises should not fall disproportionately on the world's most vulnerable economies. Modi said discussions around economic growth should move beyond conventional metrics such as GDP and trade volumes, emphasizing that "The reality today is, when it comes to growth, the question should not be about GDP or trade numbers. The real question is, growth for whom, with whom and in what direction?" He described India's growth story as one of inclusion, scale and democratic empowerment, inspired by 'sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayas' approach. The prime minister highlighted that development initiatives should be driven by the priorities of participating nations while leveraging global financial resources and technical expertise.
Modi's visit to France for the G7 Summit has significant bilateral implications, as it will boost cooperation under the Special Global Strategic Partnership between France and India. His itinerary includes high-profile discussions with world leaders, with expectations of holding a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump focusing on trade, visas, and energy cooperation. On June 14, Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will jointly inaugurate the 'Bharat Innovates 2026' event — a flagship platform connecting Indian deep-tech startups with venture capitalists. This event emphasises India's transition from IT outsourcing to technology building, with the initiative serving as a vital bridge connecting 120 premier Indian deep-tech startups and universities with European investors and research institutions. Modi will later travel to Slovakia for a state visit on June 14-15, where he will hold talks with President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava and interact with business leaders, before concluding his France visit in Paris on June 18 where he will attend VivaTech 2026 alongside President Macron.
