Visa has launched a restructured premium card portfolio in India, replacing its single Visa Infinite tier with a comprehensive three-level suite. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the new portfolio includes Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite Privilege, and Visa Infinite Private, each designed to capture different segments of the growing affluent consumer market. The top-tier Visa Infinite Private is invitation-only and targets ultra-high-net-worth individuals with bespoke concierge services and exclusive experiences, while the mid-tier Visa Infinite Privilege offers broader lifestyle access, and the entry-level Visa Infinite retains elevated travel and everyday rewards. As Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager for India at Visa, explained, the refreshed suite reflects affluent consumers' demand for hyper-personalization and globally relevant privileges, building on Visa's leadership in shaping premium payments and affluent lifestyles.
The restructuring is supported by data from Visa's own VCA India's Affluent Economy 2025-2026 Whitepaper, which reveals significant market expansion. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the number of individuals earning over ₹10 lakh annually has grown from 69 lakh to 1.3 crore in recent years. The whitepaper also found that 7 in 10 affluent consumers now seek bespoke and exclusive offerings, driving the portfolio redesign to meet evolving consumer demands for personalized experiences. According to the latest reports, affluence is increasingly being expressed through experiences that are intuitive, tailored and elevated – shaped around individual aspirations rather than standard markers of luxury, with premium consumers increasingly expecting access that moves seamlessly across travel, dining, sport, wellness and other lifestyle passions.
The refreshed portfolio includes several premium features and curated experiences. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, the portfolio features elevated transaction limits, smart authorisation, and cross-border issuance capabilities. Visa is introducing curated experiential programmes including Infinite Tastes: Beyond the Menu, a chef-led culinary initiative covering the Asia Pacific dining scene, and Visa Destinations, a travel platform offering handpicked itineraries and exclusive access. These programmes move beyond conventional card benefits to offer more immersive and discovery-led access, reflecting the expanded Visa Infinite portfolio's focus on creating meaningful moments that bring cardholders closer to the passions they value most. The intelligent payments capabilities include elevated transaction limits, smart authorisation, cross-border issuance and always-on security, underpinning the clear progression of benefits across the three-tier structure.
The announcement signals Visa's intent to deepen its position in India's premium payments space as affluence spreads beyond major metros. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, consumer expectations are shifting from ownership to access and curated experiences. The move repositions the Visa Infinite brand as a scalable framework rather than a single product, allowing Visa to capture a rapidly expanding affluent consumer segment with tailored offerings across different income levels and lifestyle preferences. The refreshed Visa Infinite portfolio introduces a more refined and layered approach to the premium card experience in India, combining elevated lifestyle benefits, seamless travel experiences, bespoke concierge services tailored to discerning customers, and the strength of Visa's partner ecosystem to deliver meaningful value across diverse expressions of affluence.
