Moomoo has partnered with Kalshi to offer CFTC-regulated event contracts that allow retail investors to trade on major economic, political, and cultural events directly through the platform. As reported by Moomoo, the offering provides users access to contracts linked to events such as Federal Reserve interest-rate decisions, inflation data releases, elections, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Event contracts are exchange-listed derivatives with prices ranging from $0.01 to $1 and represent the market's implied probability of an event occurring. The contracts are fully collateralized and integrated alongside Moomoo's existing equities, options and ETF offerings.
According to CoinDesk reports, moomoo is positioning itself against the traditional retail investing model of asset aggregation. Albi Mema, director of crypto operations at moomoo U.S., stated that the company wants to democratize access to institutional-grade tools that have historically been reserved for Wall Street institutions. As reported by CoinDesk, Mema emphasized that retail investors today are more informed, engaged, and demanding than ever, seeking better data, better tools, and more context around their investment decisions.
As reported by CoinDesk, moomoo operates as a global trading platform with more than 30 million global users, $156 billion in client assets, and nearly $1.9 trillion in annual trading volume. The New York-based firm offers retail investors access to stocks, options, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies through a single application. The company focuses on combining low-cost trading with institutional-grade market data, analytics, and investing tools for self-directed traders.
The prediction market expansion comes as interest in prediction markets continues to grow significantly. According to Moomoo, combined monthly volume on the two largest platforms climbed from under $5 billion in September 2025 to about $24 billion by April 2026. Prediction markets have evolved from a niche forecasting tool into a fast-growing corner of the retail trading market since the 2024 U.S. election. Nate Palmer, president of Moomoo U.S., stated that the focus is on providing investors with both access and understanding through event contracts and supporting educational resources.
The Kalshi partnership represents part of Moomoo's broader strategy to expand its product ecosystem. The company recently introduced direct crypto deposits and withdrawals and launched moomoo API Skills, a feature designed to support AI-powered investing tools. As reported by Moomoo, the partnership with Kalshi will broaden access to event-based trading and joins a growing list of brokerages offering retail investors exposure to event-driven markets. The company continues to focus on bridging traditional markets with blockchain-native solutions while maintaining its institutional-grade approach.
