Flipkart-owned digital payments platform Super.money has begun rolling out artificial intelligence agents that can autonomously shop for products and buy gold, according to reports from Bloomberg. The fintech plans to cover its entire customer base within the next two months, as stated by CEO Prakash Sikaria. The platform, which serves about 20 million monthly active users, is starting with agentic shopping on Flipkart and enabling gold purchases when prices dip to customer-specified levels.
According to the Bloomberg interview, Super.money will eventually broaden online shopping via agents beyond Flipkart and expects the AI assistants to handle bill payments and investments. The company anticipates 20% of its engineering costs this year will be allocated toward building and scaling consumer agents. CEO Sikaria projects that 30% to 40% of the organization's revenues could come from agentic use cases within three to four years once the model proves successful.
As reported by Bloomberg, the initial AI agents will be free for customers but the firm plans to monetize them through subscription services as usage grows. The Super.money app, launched in 2024, currently offers financial services including payments, credit cards, loans and fixed deposits. The platform competes in India's crowded fintech market with players such as Alphabet Inc.'s Google Pay and Paytm, which together offer transactions through the homegrown quick payments system called UPI.
According to the Bloomberg report, CEO Sikaria emphasized that India's value-conscious market makes price-led or value-led agents particularly suitable. The agents are described as payment agents built in partnership with merchants, with the company positioning them to drive faster product innovation that will boost revenues. The strategy represents Super.money's effort to differentiate itself from larger fintech competitors through AI-powered services.
