Fintech and payment gateway services provider BharatPe has launched 'BharatPe Flex', a credit-on-UPI solution powered by Yes Bank. According to reports from Mint, the product allows customers to make payments across existing UPI ecosystems including bill payments, fuel payments, online transactions, shopping, scan QR code payments, travel and other daily expenditures. The launch includes a 'Pay now. Settle later.' campaign that showcases support of growing customer preference for familiar solutions with greater flexibility when managing cash flow.
As reported by Mint, BharatPe Flex offers customers the option to repay in full within the billing cycle or convert spends into flexible equated monthly installments (EMIs) depending on their repayment preference. The solution provides customers with up to 45 days of interest-free period to settle dues and offers fully digital onboarding and activation with eligible users getting approvals within three minutes. The product can be used in-shop and online to complete UPI payments, allows tracking of expenses, limits, and repayments within the app, and enables customers to earn rewards on every eligible payment through BharatPe UPI. Users also gain access to BharatPe UPI Rewards, earning guaranteed reward in the form of Zillion coins for all transactions done through BharatPe UPI app, which can be used to purchase vouchers for multiple brands or pay utility bills.
According to Mint, customers can enroll for BharatPe Flex by downloading the BharatPe app from Play Store or App Store, clicking on BharatPe Flex and completing the digital onboarding and KYC process. Once KYC is complete, users can link the approved credit line with their UPI and set up their UPI PIN to start making payments. The product has been designed to work within existing payment habits without requiring customers to adopt a separate payment ecosystem or behavior. Alternatively, users can open the BharatPe UPI app and tap the 'Pay Later' icon, create their 'Credit Line on UPI' account by completing the KYC process of YES BANK, link their credit account with UPI, select YES BANK as their credit provider and authenticate by using Aadhaar, and set their UPI PIN to start paying instantly through their YES BANK-powered credit line.
As reported by Mint, BharatPe Flex comes at a time when UPI has become deeply embedded in everyday consumer behavior across India. Nalin Negi, CEO of BharatPe, stated that UPI has fundamentally transformed the way India transacts by making payments instant, interoperable, and accessible at scale. He emphasized that as digital payments mature, the next phase of innovation will focus on providing consumers with greater flexibility and control over managing everyday expenses. Anil Singh, Country Head, Credit Cards & Merchant Acquiring at Yes Bank, noted that the collaboration reflects the lender's commitment to provide a seamless Credit-on-UPI experience that offers customers greater flexibility in managing their everyday transactions.
