
Smallcap World Fund Inc, a mutual fund owned by US-based Capital Group, has acquired 2.98 lakh shares in Shaily Engineering Plastics at ₹1,878.41 per share and 6.43 lakh shares at ₹1,879 per share, totalling to 2.04 percent stake worth ₹176.88 crore. According to reports from Moneycontrol, the fund already held 5.09 percent equity stake in the ace investor Ashish Kacholia-backed company as of December 2025. Shaily Engineering Plastics shares ended 0.15 percent higher at ₹1,911.4 amid high volumes on the National Stock Exchange.
The acquisition comes as Shaily Engineering Plastics shares hit the lowest closing level since December 2021, having been in a downward journey since September 2024 with a making lower high-lower structure. As reported by Moneycontrol, the stock plunged 4.45 percent to ₹6.23 on Thursday, potentially after promoter Mark AB Welfare Trust sold 85 lakh shares (0.43 percent stake) at ₹6.24 per share, valued at ₹5.3 crore.
In related market activity, Kaynes Technology India shares finished at ₹3,700.3, down 0.69 percent, following a block deal where BofA Securities Europe SA bought 1.16 lakh shares (0.17 percent of paid-up equity) at ₹3,614.4 per share, valued at ₹41.95 crore. According to Moneycontrol, Kadensa Master Fund and Bluepearl Map I LP were the sellers, offloading shares worth ₹16.96 crore and ₹24.99 crore respectively at the same price.
In the Skipper transmission and distribution structure manufacturer, Pragya Mercantile bought 8 lakh shares (0.7 percent stake) at ₹340.96 per share for ₹27.27 crore, while Santosh Industries sold 10 lakh shares (0.88 percent stake) at ₹345.55 per share, amounting to ₹34.55 crore. As reported by Moneycontrol, Neo Real Asset Yield Fund also acquired 15.43 units in IndiaGrid Infrastructure Trust from Sankhya Financial Services at ₹162.68 per unit for ₹25.11 crore.
Beyond the acquisition, Filatex Fashions has been under pressure, witnessing a southward journey since September 2024 and ending at an all-time closing low of ₹0.18, down 5.26 percent. According to Moneycontrol, promoter Prabhat Sethia offloaded 4.58 crore shares (0.55 percent stake) in the company at ₹0.19 per share for ₹87.2 lakh, adding to the selling pressure across multiple smallcap stocks.
