Sensex zoomed 2,700 points to cross 79,371 levels while Nifty 50 soared 2.5% to touch 24,551.35 during Thursday's afternoon session, driven by a sharp decline in crude oil prices following the US midterm election results. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, the rally gained momentum as Brent crude futures plunged 8.7% to $94.62 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 8.3% to $88.12 per barrel, emerging as one of the biggest triggers behind Thursday's market rally. The Nifty 50 climbed as much as 2.01% to 24,442.20 during the session, reclaiming the crucial 24,000 level for the first time since September 4. Brent crude futures plunged 8.7% to $94.62 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 8.3% to $88.12 per barrel, emerging as one of the biggest triggers behind Thursday's market rally.
