Bajaj Auto Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd rounded out the top gainers with gains of 0.44% and 0.36% respectively, while JSW Steel Ltd also contributed with a 0.34% gain.
Infosys Ltd led the losers with a 2.97% decline to ₹1,160.10, followed by HCL Technologies Ltd which fell 1.61% to ₹1,066.90. As reported by ET Now, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd also declined 0.69% to ₹1,756.90, while Axis Bank Ltd dropped 0.69% to ₹1,283.50. Interglobe Aviation Ltd and Eicher Motors Ltd rounded out the top losers with declines of 0.59% and 0.44% respectively. Eternal Ltd faced additional pressure after disclosing that Andhra Pradesh authorities imposed a ₹9.63 crore penalty for GST-related issues, according to exchange filings.

Nifty FMCG emerged as the best-performing sector, gaining nearly 1%, aided by strong advances in Nestle India and Hindustan Unilever, both of which rose close to 2%. Nestle India was the top gainer on the Nifty, rising 1.98%, while Hindustan Unilever gained 1.72%. Axis Bank advanced 1.7%, with Kotak Mahindra Bank climbing 1.68% and ICICI Bank adding 1.4%. Banking stocks emerged as the biggest contributors to the Nifty's performance, with HDFC Bank contributing 35.32 points, ICICI Bank adding 31.22 points and Axis Bank contributing 14.89 points. However, the Nifty Realty emerged as the worst-performing sector, falling nearly 2%, with Anant Raj and Lodha Developers among the biggest losers, both declining more than 3%.
