
Infosys Ltd continued its impressive rally for the third consecutive session, surging 5.69% to ₹1,270.90 as of 12:49 IST on NSE. The stock has now gained 8.77% over the past month, demonstrating strong momentum in recent trading sessions. According to Business Standard, the stock is trading at a PE ratio of 16.27 based on trailing twelve months earnings ending March 2026. The benchmark NIFTY IT index also performed well, rising 4.18% on the day to 29,854.25, with the sector showing a 6.97% gain over the last month.
Infosys Ltd emerged as the top performer with a 5.69% gain to ₹1,270.90, recording the highest trading volume of 235.84 lakh shares compared to the daily average of 148.81 lakh shares in the last month. Wipro Ltd followed closely with a 3.43% increase to ₹208.50 on volume of 171.43 lakh shares. HCL Technologies Ltd posted a 2.00% gain to ₹1,188.50 with 3.48 lakh shares traded. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd rounded out the top five gainers with a 1.62% increase to ₹2,321.30 on 7.56 lakh shares volume. The broader BSE Information Technology index also gained 1.11% to 29,159.19, with other notable gainers including VL E-Governance & IT Solutions Ltd which increased 4.96% and NINtec Systems Ltd adding 4.11%.
According to ET Now reports, the top gainers list was dominated by IT sector stocks, with Infosys leading the rally for the third consecutive session. The BSE Information Technology index demonstrated strong performance with a 1.11% gain today, supported by gains across multiple constituents. The Trent Ltd also featured among the gainers with a 1.30% increase to ₹4,304.00 on 0.47 lakh shares volume. Tech Mahindra Ltd and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd completed the top performers list with gains of 1.26% and 0.90% respectively. As per Business Standard, InfoBeans Technologies Ltd also emerged as a significant gainer, surging 5.05% to ₹167.55.
The NIFTY IT index has shown strong performance with a 6.97% gain over the last month, currently quoting at 29,854.25 with a 4.18% daily gain. However, Infosys continues to underperform on a longer-term basis, declining 17.63% over the past year compared to a 4.55% drop in NIFTY and a 15.51% drop in the Nifty IT index. The benchmark NIFTY is up 0.19% to 23,426.15 while the Sensex gained 0.35% to 74,526.12. The June futures contract for Infosys is trading at ₹1,273.1, up 5.68% on the day, reflecting positive sentiment in the derivatives market.
