The broader defence sector benefited from positive momentum across Indian stock markets amid signs of resumption of US-Iran peace talks, raising hopes of an end to the Middle East conflict.
As reported by Live Mint, Hindustan Aeronautics, Bharat Electronics (BEL), Bharat Dynamics (BDL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Cochin Shipyard, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers and Dynamatic Technologies were among other significant gainers in the defence sector. The rally was supported by strong buying across Indian stock markets amid signs of resumption of US-Iran peace talks, raising hopes of an end to the Middle East conflict.
According to Live Mint, the Nifty India Defence sector rallied as much as 2.5%, with all constituents trading in the green. The broader Indian stock market also showed strong performance, with the Sensex surging over 1,300 points and the Nifty 50 surpassing 24,200 level after surging over 1.5% during the session. This positive momentum provided additional support to defence sector stocks.
