Given India's T+1 settlement cycle, shares purchased on the record date (June 12) will not be eligible for dividend payment, making investors who own shares by June 11 the beneficiaries. As per The Economic Times, June 11 is also the last date to buy City Union Bank shares for bonus payout, with the company setting June 12 as the record date for bonus shares in the ratio of 1:3.
Among cement majors, ACC Ltd. and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd have announced final dividends of ₹7.5 per share each, while Ambuja Cements Ltd declared ₹2 per share. From the Tata group, Tata Steel Ltd declared ₹4 per share as final dividend, with retail-focused Trent Ltd announcing a higher payout of ₹6 per share. Adani Enterprises Ltd recommended a ₹1.30 per share dividend for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM. Voltas Ltd also declared a ₹4 per share dividend, as reported by NDTV Profit.
In the financial sector, Canara Bank announced a final dividend of ₹4.2 per share. JM Financial Ltd declared ₹1.75 per share, while Piramal Finance Ltd announced a relatively higher ₹11 per share dividend. Punjab National Bank declared a ₹3 per share final dividend, with the record date set for June 13, 2026. ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company Ltd stood out with a ₹12.4 per share payout, one of the highest in the list. According to The Economic Times, Reliance Industrial Infrastructure Ltd also announced a ₹3.50 per share final dividend for the same record date.
Dividends are taxable in shareholders' hands, and companies are no longer required to pay Dividend Distribution Tax (DDT). As reported by NDTV Profit, the TDS on dividend income for resident individuals is 10% if the dividend amount exceeds ₹5,000 in a financial year. Dividends are classified as final, interim, and special dividends, with companies distributing portions of their profits to reward shareholders for their equity investments. The TDS on bonus shares is 10% if the bonus shares are sold within one year of allotment, as per The Economic Times.
