
According to reports from CNBC TV18 and ET Now, Adani Enterprises Ltd. successfully completed its ₹15,000 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) on Tuesday, July 7. The company's board approved the allotment of 5.20 crore equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each to eligible qualified institutional buyers. The QIP opened on July 2 and closed on July 7, demonstrating the company's ability to raise substantial capital through institutional channels. As per Trade Brains, this fundraising represents one of the largest equity fundraises in India's infrastructure sector this year, marking a significant milestone for the conglomerate's subsidiary.
As reported by CNBC TV18 and ET Now, the issue price was fixed at ₹2,883 per share, representing a discount of nearly 5% to Tuesday's closing price. The company informed the exchanges that it has successfully completed the fundraising exercise, marking a significant capital infusion for the conglomerate's subsidiary. The issue price includes a premium of ₹2,882 per equity share and represents a 5% discount to the floor price of ₹3,034.68, in line with the pricing norms under the SEBI ICDR Regulations. Following the allotment, the company's paid-up equity share capital increased with the addition of more than 5.20 crore fully paid-up shares.
According to the exchange filing reported by CNBC TV18, among the investors allotted shares were funds managed by SBI MF (Various Schemes) with 15.33%, New World with 13.58%, and Eupac with 7.27% of the total QIP allocation. As per Trade Brains, New World Fund Inc. received approximately 13.58% of the issue size, while various SBI Mutual Fund schemes together accounted for over 15%. This distribution indicates strong institutional confidence in the company's growth prospects and financial stability, with participation from both domestic mutual funds and global institutional investors.
As reported by CNBC TV18, shares of Adani Enterprises settled 3.02% lower at ₹3,109.90 on Tuesday following the QIP announcement. However, according to LiveMint, the Adani Group stock rose 0.5% to its day's high of ₹3,126.95 on BSE after the successful QIP closure. The stock has demonstrated strong performance with a 5.5% gain in 1 month, 53% in 3 months, 41% in 6 months, and 21% in the last 1 year. The company commands a market capitalisation of around ₹4.05 lakh crore and hit its 52-week high of ₹3,245 earlier this month, while touching its 52-week low of ₹1,753.45 in March 2026.
The successful QIP closure is expected to strengthen the company's balance sheet and support long-term infrastructure expansion, as reported by Trade Brains. As of FY26, Adani Enterprises reported borrowings of ₹1.07 lakh crore and a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.32. The fresh capital could help reduce dependence on future debt and support long-term capital expenditure across the company's diversified infrastructure portfolio. For FY26, the company reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,00,469 crore and net profit of ₹9,951 crore, though operating cash flow remained relatively weak due to continued investments in large infrastructure projects.
