
The Uttar Pradesh government has secured investment proposals worth nearly ₹95,000 crore from leading Asian economies as part of its strategy to become a $1 trillion economy by 2030. According to reports from Business Standard, these proposals come from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea, which rank among the world's leading developed economies with strong positions in modern technology, finance, manufacturing and services.
The investment proposals show significant variation across Asian economies, with Japan leading at ₹50,000 crore and Singapore contributing ₹40,000 crore. As reported by Business Standard, Taiwan and South Korea accounted for proposed investments of around ₹3,000 crore and ₹1,600 crore respectively. A senior UP official confirmed that these proposals span sectors such as electronics, manufacturing, skill development and services.
Beyond the Asian investments, Uttar Pradesh has received proposals worth around ₹5,000 crore from Germany and the United Kingdom, and ₹2,074 crore from the United Arab Emirates. According to Business Standard, Invest UP has established sector-specific desks to attract large investments, with the steel and cement desk receiving ₹12,232 crore in applications, followed by the electronics desk at ₹8,050 crore. The Global Capability Centre desk secured ₹2,487 crore, while the textiles desk received ₹1,321 crore and the automobile desk obtained ₹722 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to launch projects worth around ₹7 trillion at the forthcoming fifth Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC 5.0), though the dates have not been announced. As reported by Business Standard, GBC 5.0 will focus on infrastructure, defence and aerospace, green energy, electronics manufacturing, textiles, tourism and food processing. Invest UP is also planning business mission trips to Japan and Singapore in August 2026 to continue exploring investment opportunities.
