The board of Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works has approved raising funds up to ₹500 crore through Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) at its meeting held on 08 September 2026. According to reports from Business Standard, the company will issue listed, secured and/or unsecured, rated, redeemable NCDs on private placement basis or through public issue or through any other permissible mode.
The approved NCD issuance will be structured as listed, secured and/or unsecured, rated, redeemable Non-Convertible Debentures. As reported by Business Standard, the company has the flexibility to issue these instruments through multiple channels including private placement, public issue, or any other permissible mode available under regulatory framework.
The board's approval represents a significant funding initiative for Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works to access capital markets for its business requirements. However, the approval comes amid broader market volatility as investors engage in profit booking following recent gains. According to market reports, the NSE IPO story took a significant step forward on September 4, when the exchange received Sebi's final approval for the public issue. The regulatory clearance has brought the IPO considerably closer to the market, with NSE targeting a stock market listing in the week beginning September 21. Reports suggest that the proposed NSE IPO could involve an issue size of around ₹30,000 crore, potentially making it the largest IPO in India's history by issue size.
