South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit announced four new altcoin listings today, with trading set to begin at 16:00 Korea Standard Time (KST) after a three-hour postponement from the originally scheduled 13:00 KST. The exchange will open trading for Biconomy (BICO), Bubblemaps (BMT), Nillion (NIL), and ETHGas (GWEI) against Bitcoin (BTC) and USDT pairs. According to reports from Upbit, deposits and withdrawals opened within two hours of the original notice being published, with standard launch restrictions applying. The exchange updated its official notice at 12:50 KST to postpone trading until the revised time, though it did not provide a detailed reason for the change.
ETHGas (GWEI) led the market reaction, rising 11.75% against the dollar on Kraken following the announcement. Bubblemaps (BMT) gained 7.48%, while Biconomy (BICO) climbed 7.35% on their respective Binance Tether (USDT) pairs over the same period. Nillion (NIL) posted the smallest gain among the four tokens, up 5.11% at press time. As reported by Upbit, all four tokens moved higher after the listing notice was published.
Trading activity climbed alongside the price increases, with ETHGas leading in volume growth. According to CoinGecko, ETHGas's trading volume jumped 197.70% to $11.1 million over 24 hours, representing the sharpest increase among the four tokens. Biconomy followed with $34.5 million, up 46.70%, while Bubblemaps handled $12 million, a 25.70% gain. Nillion recorded $14.6 million, up 21.40% in trading volume.
Upbit is applying its standard launch restrictions for the new listings. Buy orders will be restricted for approximately five minutes after trading begins, and sell orders priced 10% or more below the previous day's closing price will also be restricted during that period. For approximately two hours after launch, only limit orders will be available. The exchange emphasized that deposits and withdrawals are supported only through the networks specified in the announcement, advising users to always check the network before depositing. Upbit warned that trading could face another delay if deposits and withdrawals fail to establish sufficient liquidity before the revised opening time.
Each of the four tokens will receive one BTC pair and one USDT pair, covering a total of eight new trading pairs. *BICO, NIL and GWEI deposits must use Ethereum networks, while BMT transfers require Solana network support only. Upbit provided contract addresses for each supported asset and warned that deposits sent through unsupported networks may require lengthy recovery processes or may not be recoverable. The exchange also noted it can request evidence explaining the source of large deposits and may delay transfers from exchanges that don't meet its Travel Rule requirements.
