South Korean crypto exchange Upbit opened Block Street (BSB) trading against Korean won, Bitcoin and Tether at 15:00 KST on August 7, adding another major South Korean venue for the tokenized asset infrastructure token. According to the exchange's official listing notice, BSB deposits and withdrawals use Ethereum, with Upbit warning users to verify the contract address 0xdb6ba5d510f114f9b2ea08bea7d30e32eee33411. The exchange identified this as the supported contract for the official BSB token, with transfers through other networks not credited normally. The exchange scheduled trading for 3:00 p.m. KST and noted that trading start could be delayed if adequate liquidity is not secured. Deposits and withdrawals were expected to open within two hours of the announcement, though the new markets had not opened when the report was prepared.
BSB traded near 222.34 KRW at 11:45 a.m. KST on August 7, with its market capitalization standing around $222.34 million, based on an estimated circulating supply of 207.75 million tokens against a total supply of 1 billion tokens. According to Upbit's listing notice, the exchange cited a previous closing price of 211.09 KRW and a recent reference price of 222.34 KRW at the time of the announcement. The project has raised $11.5 million in strategic funding led by Hack VC with participation from Generative Venture, DWF Labs, StudioB and Bridge34 in October 2025. The token was already available on exchanges including Bithumb, Coinbase, Bybit and other global venues, making Upbit's addition an expansion of BSB's Korean market access rather than its first centralized exchange listing.
Both exchanges implemented similar trading controls for the new markets. Upbit applied controls commonly used during new listings, blocking buy orders for about five minutes after trading began and restricting sell orders priced more than 10% below the previous day's closing price for approximately five minutes. For the first two hours, traders could place only limit orders. The exchange displayed reference prices of 211.09 KRW at the previous close and 222.34 KRW at 11:45 KST, with additional reference prices of 0.00000043 BTC and 0.02833 USDT shortly before publication. Bithumb had previously listed CAP on June 30, supporting Ethereum deposits and opening CAP/KRW trading at 14:00 KST with a reference price of 36.54 won. The structure resembles other recent Upbit additions, including the recent listing of Derive's DRV token to KRW, BTC and USDT markets.
As reported by crypto.news, both exchanges will implement similar trading controls for the new markets. Upbit will block buy orders for about five minutes after trading begins and restrict sell orders priced more than 10% below the previous day's closing price during that period. Only limit orders will be accepted for approximately two hours. The exchange displayed more recent reference prices of 385.68 won and 0.2632 USDT at 13:30 KST, which were reference figures rather than guaranteed execution prices. Bithumb will apply similar controls to META2 and USDG, with buy orders unavailable for five minutes and sell orders below 90% or above 200% of the stated reference price facing temporary restrictions. Both assets will use Solana for deposits and withdrawals, with Bithumb changing USDG support from Ethereum to Solana before opening the new Korean won market. Users must verify the supported network before transferring BSB, as deposits sent through unsupported networks may require a lengthy return process.
According to Block Street's official documentation, the project describes itself as infrastructure for on-chain capital markets focused on tokenized equities and real-world assets. The protocol calls this architecture a "Unified Liquidity Layer" designed to connect fragmented liquidity across issuers, blockchains and trading venues. BSB serves as the protocol's utility and governance token, with holders able to use it for governance participation, staking and ecosystem incentives. The project's whitepaper fixes total BSB supply at 1 billion tokens, with 207.75 million BSB (equivalent to 20.775% of supply) expected to circulate around the token generation event. The project has also raised outside capital to build its infrastructure, with Block Street announcing an $11.5 million strategic funding round in October 2025. The immediate event to watch is Upbit's planned 3:00 p.m. KST trading start on August 7, with the exchange making the launch conditional on sufficient liquidity, making the announced time subject to change.
