The CoinDesk 20 Index demonstrated positive momentum on Tuesday, trading at 2,064.22 points, up 0.7% or 14.51 points since 4 p.m. ET. According to reports from CoinDesk Indices, the index showed broad-based strength with fifteen of the 20 constituent assets trading higher. The index, which is traded on multiple platforms across several global regions, continues to reflect the performance of major cryptocurrency assets.
Uniswap (UNI) emerged as the leading performer with a 3.7% gain, as reported by CoinDesk Indices. Bittensor (TAO) followed closely with a 2.1% increase, joining Uniswap as the top performers in the index. These gains contributed significantly to the overall positive performance of the CoinDesk 20 Index during the trading session.
Zcash (ZEC) emerged as the best performer among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap, with a 3% rally that brought it to $588. According to Invezz, this strong performance was primarily driven by the Zcash Foundation's Q1 quarterly report, which revealed approximately $36.7 million in net liquid assets as of March 31. The foundation reported monthly operating expenses of around $272,539, with personnel costs making up the largest portion. Executive Director Alex Bornstein highlighted significant progress including regulatory clarity, infrastructure development, and governance work, stating the quarter reflected major achievements across multiple fronts.
Technical analysis supports the bullish momentum in Zcash, with the $ZEC/USD 4-hour chart remaining bullish and efficient. As reported by Invezz, the RSI of 65 indicates that ZEC is bullish but has room for growth as it remains outside the overbought region. The MACD lines crossed into positive territory earlier this month, adding further confluence to the bullish narrative. If the rally continues, ZEC could surge towards the recent swing high of $641, with a candle close above this resistance potentially extending the rally towards the November 9 high of $745. However, failure to defend the Tuesday low of $550 could see ZEC extend its correction towards the weekend low of $481.
