Polygon Labs has successfully added TRON network support to its Open Money Stack platform, enabling businesses to offer stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers through a single integration. According to reports from BlockFirms, this development allows remittance firms, fintech companies, and payment providers to connect bank funds directly into the world's largest network for USDT (TRC-20) without independently assembling licensing, sponsor banks, wallet providers, and cross-chain routing infrastructure. The integration streamlines the payment process by eliminating the need for separate connections to wallet providers, bridges, or fiat-ramp operators, enabling dollars to enter through regulated on ramps via bank transfer, debit card, or cash at retail counters, move into virtual accounts that hold real balances, and settle onchain under business-defined rules. As per Polygon's latest announcement, the integration supports the complete payment process for businesses operating on TRON, from accepting customer deposits and converting fiat into USDT to transferring funds across networks and paying recipients through banks, cards, or cash pickup services.
The integration leverages TRON's substantial stablecoin ecosystem, which currently holds more than $94 billion of Tether's dollar-backed token in circulation and supports over $30 trillion in total transfer volume. According to Polygon's announcement, TRON currently holds more than $94 billion in circulating USDT, representing over half of Tether's supply across supported blockchain networks. In August, TRON's second quarter figures showed that the blockchain processed $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers during the second quarter of 2026, with USDT supply standing at $87.9 billion at the end of June, accounting for 98.5% of all stablecoins circulating on TRON. The network has maintained a large share of stablecoin transfers, particularly among customers using USDT for remittances, exchange withdrawals, and international payments. This positioning makes TRON one of the primary networks for USDT movement, providing Polygon with access to a significant stablecoin market infrastructure. According to the latest reports, TRON has recorded over 407 million total user accounts and more than $28 billion in total value locked (TVL) as of October 2026, demonstrating its continued growth and adoption.
The new service targets businesses seeking to utilize TRON for digital-dollar services without requiring complex orchestration between banking access, wallets, and separate providers. According to Polygon's announcement, businesses can accept payments through bank transfers, cards, cash, or cryptocurrencies and convert funds into TRC20 USDT before transferring or withdrawing them. Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, emphasized that this integration provides businesses with a comprehensive solution for offering stablecoin services without the need for multiple separate connections, stating that it brings one of the deepest pools of USDT liquidity into the same integration. The integration extends regulated dollar access through Polygon Ramps with money-transmitter licenses covering 48 U.S. states, programmable accounts for managing TRON wallets, and cross-chain movement capabilities allowing businesses to route USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks. For remittance providers, this means customers can fund payments in dollars and deliver USDT to recipients' TRON wallets without integrating separate ramp, wallet and routing vendors, with the same infrastructure supporting reverse flows allowing users to move USDT from TRON and cash out through bank accounts. As per Polygon's announcement, the service targets fintech companies, remittance providers, exchanges, and gig economy platforms whose customers already use TRON for USDT transactions, with the Philippines, Mexico, Argentina, and Nigeria identified as key markets.
Under the new integration, businesses can assign customers permanent TRON deposit addresses that remain valid for multiple transactions. When USDT arrives at an assigned address, OMS identifies the customer, records the deposit, and makes the balance available for subsequent payments or transfers. According to Polygon's announcement, wallet management is available through two custody models: for custodial wallets, licensed custodians manage private keys while applicable identity verification, screening, and transaction monitoring procedures are incorporated into the payment process. Embedded wallets give users control over their private keys and support familiar authentication methods, removing the need for browser extensions or seed phrase prompts during onboarding. Businesses can select individual services or use the entire payment system through one integration, with existing wallet providers, compliance services, and accounting systems remaining in place where companies prefer to retain them. The integration enables businesses to serve customers across both TRON and EVM networks through a shared infrastructure layer, with the same compliance and orchestration handled underneath.
Cross-chain payments are handled through Polygon Trails, which routes USDT and other supported digital assets between TRON and Ethereum Virtual Machine compatible networks. According to Polygon's announcement, the service allows businesses to receive USDT on TRON and deliver USDC to recipients using Ethereum or another supported chain, with routing and conversion completed within a single transaction without requiring customers to interact directly with a blockchain bridge. For example, a remittance company could receive USDT from a customer using TRON, route the payment through the supported infrastructure, and deliver the funds to a recipient in another cryptocurrency or through a local fiat payout service. Payment instructions can be programmed to determine when funds move and where they are delivered. Customers receiving money through the service can convert USDT into fiat and withdraw it to bank accounts, cards, or supported cash pickup locations. Polygon has processed more than $3 trillion in payments volume as of September 21, demonstrating its significant scale in the blockchain payments infrastructure. The integration marks the first phase of TRON support across Polygon Open Money Stack, with additional assets, markets and payment capabilities expected to become available over time.
