Jito's total value locked (TVL) has experienced a significant decline, falling by more than $59 million from its July 23 high of $791.02 million. According to reports from AMBCrypto, this substantial capital shrink directly links to the protocol's on-chain performance and signals a shift in market sentiment. TVL measures a protocol's health, and a rising reading typically implies investors hold a long-term outlook for a protocol's native token. The sharp decline signals panic and a market crowded with sellers, creating bearish conditions for the JTO token.
Despite the TVL decline, Jito has maintained a 42% year-to-date price increase, demonstrating its overall market position. However, the asset has pulled back significantly, sliding 11.59% over the past day as bears continue to build momentum. As reported by AMBCrypto, this price movement exposes JTO to the risk of further decline, with the bears seizing control of the most recent price trajectory for the native token. The derivatives market shows falling Open Interest (OI), which dropped 16% alongside a netflow of $1.62 million, deepening the bearish outlook and forcing JTO toward the lower side of the market.
Despite the bearish sentiment, Jito's earnings data on DeFiLlama shows the protocol generated more revenue in July than in June, with July earnings reaching approximately $324,000 compared to June's $312,000. According to AMBCrypto, this improvement occurred even as the price fell 32% over the last thirty days in a bearish market. The Funding Rate remains positive at 0.0027%, indicating that the majority of capital, roughly $47.14 million, favors long JTO positions over sellers in the market. This bullish structure suggests the bears have not completely tainted the outlook, with a possible rebound still on the table.
The liquidation heatmap reveals a clear, dense band of clusters above the current price level, with most clusters sitting densely concentrated far above price. As reported by AMBCrypto, these clusters mark areas where investors have placed buy or sell orders, and they act as magnets, pulling price toward them. At the time of writing, most clusters sit above price, suggesting potential for a rebound. However, the thinner cluster below price leaves room for JTO to drop even lower and extend current losses. The technical setup indicates that while recovery remains possible, the path to higher levels will likely face resistance from the concentrated selling pressure above current levels.
