Binance Wallet has introduced a significant upgrade allowing users to pay blockchain gas fees using USDT across four major networks. According to Binance's updated support documentation, the feature is now available on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana and TRON, as reported by the company. This development eliminates the previous requirement for users to hold native gas tokens like BNB, ETH, SOL and TRX to complete transactions on these networks.
Recent measurements from September 27, 2026 demonstrate the significant cost differences between networks using USDT gas payments. On BNB Chain, USDT transfers cost between 0.0020 to 0.0035 euros per transaction, with the most expensive transaction involving new storage slot creation. In contrast, TRON network charges 6.4285 TRX (approximately 1.88 euros) for USDT transfers, with first-time receipts costing double that amount. The fee structure operates through Binance Wallet's existing system, where none of the network fee goes to Binance directly, with validators and network participants receiving transaction processing charges.
Users without sufficient USDT in their wallet can utilize supported balances held in Binance Exchange accounts across the same four networks. According to Binance's support documentation, eligible assets include BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH and SOL through Spot, Funding or Earn balances. The company provides multiple backup options when neither wallet USDT nor exchange balances are available, including transferring gas tokens from Binance Exchange, receiving them from another wallet, or purchasing supported assets using a bank card.
Separately, Binance Wallet launched a promotional campaign offering zero gas fees for TRON transfers starting September 23, 2025. As reported by Binance, this campaign runs through December 22, 2026, and is supported by TRON DAO with availability subject to campaign spots. After the promotional period ends, qualifying transfers will receive a discounted fee of 1 USDT per transaction. Users can access this promotion by selecting USDT as the payment method when transferring TRC-20 tokens through Binance Wallet.
This USDT gas payment feature represents part of Binance Wallet's ongoing efforts to reduce transaction friction since its December 2024 rebranding from Binance Web3 Wallet. According to Binance's documentation, the wallet is provided by Binance Barbados Limited and operates as a self-custody product not supervised by any regulatory authority. The platform has expanded services to include perpetual futures trading and Event Rush integration on BNB Chain, with users warned to select correct networks when moving assets between Binance and external wallets to avoid asset loss.
