
Whirlpool of India reported a 39.7% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹26.49 crore for Q3 FY26, compared to the same period last year. According to reports from Business Standard, the company achieved a 4.0% increase in net sales to ₹1,773.84 crore during the quarter. Despite the profit decline, the revenue growth was primarily driven by share gains in washers and growth in air conditioning categories.
The refrigerator business remained subdued due to soft industry conditions and continuing competitive pricing and promotions, as reported by Business Standard. However, the company maintained its market position, holding volume market shares in total refrigerator and washer MBO (Multi-brand outlets) market for the quarter versus the previous year. The company showed an improvement of 70 basis points share points compared to Q2, consolidating its position among the top 3 brands in refrigerator and washer business.
EBITDA improved by 31.2% YoY to ₹90.9 crore in Q3 FY26, while EBITDA margin expanded by 106 basis points YoY to 5.1%, according to the company's financial results. However, profit before tax declined by 44.5% to ₹32.86 crore from ₹59.19 crore recorded in Q3 FY25. The company attributed the margin expansion to strong progress in core strategic areas of driving premiumization, executional excellence and cost productivity.
As reported by Business Standard, Narasimhan Eswar, managing director of Whirlpool of India, described Q3 as a historic period for the company. The company secured a long-term deal with Whirlpool Corporation (WHR) in mid-October 2025, ensuring multi-decadal rights to usage of the Whirlpool brand and long-term technological licensing agreements for accessing world-class WHR technology. The deal also includes a 3+ year TSA (transitional services agreement) for interim systems stability.
According to Business Standard, Whirlpool of India shares rose 1.05% to currently trade at ₹898.25 on the BSE following the earnings announcement. The company, headquartered in Gurugram, operates three manufacturing facilities at Faridabad, Puducherry and Pune, positioning itself as one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of major home appliances in India.
