
Welspun Corp has received approval for the incorporation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, to be named 'Welspun Special Coating Private Limited' or a similar name as approved by authorities. According to reports from Business Standard, the Board of Directors of Welspun DI Pipes (WDI) at its meeting held on 11 September 2026 has considered and approved the incorporation of this step-down subsidiary. The new entity will operate as a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of Welspun Corp, established through its wholly-owned subsidiary Welspun DI Pipes Limited (WDI).
The proposed company shall be incorporated with the primary objective to carry on the business of applying, providing, executing and undertaking all types of coating works. As reported by Business Standard, the proposed business scope includes but is not limited to polyolefin, polymers, fusion bonded epoxy (internal and external), epoxy, polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene, coal tar, blasting, painting, anti-corrosive, anti-rust, abrasion resistant, heat-resistant and other protective or functional coatings or any combination thereof. The subsidiary will focus on providing comprehensive coating works, with particular emphasis on protective coating solutions for pipes and metallic structures.
