
Walchandnagar Industries shares climbed 3.02% to ₹230.50 following the announcement of a significant contract win. According to reports from Business Standard, the stock gained on the back of the company securing a substantial order from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). Latest data from The Economic Times confirms the stock rose 2% to ₹228.95 on Friday after the company announced receiving the order.
The company received an order worth ₹30.53 crore from VSSC for the supply of HS200 Motorcase for the Gaganyaan mission. As reported by The Economic Times, the order includes fabrication, proof-pressure testing and supply of all three segments of HS200 Motorcase. The contract will be executed over a period of four years from the date of the contract, with all three segments expected to be supplied by Walchandnagar Industries for the Gaganyaan mission.
According to the contract terms reported by The Economic Times, VSSC will provide the required raw materials as free issue materials (FIMs), while no additional tooling cost will be paid by VSSC. This arrangement significantly reduces the financial burden on Walchandnagar Industries for the project execution, with the company responsible for fabrication, proof pressure testing and supply of the HS200 Motorcase segments.

The company reported strong financial results for Q1 FY27, with standalone net profit of ₹1.18 crore compared with a net loss of ₹10.39 crore in Q1 FY26. According to The Economic Times, Walchand Industries had reported net profit of ₹1.18 crore for the June quarter of FY26, as against net loss of ₹10.39 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales jumped 83.75% YoY to ₹90.83 crore in Q1 FY27, indicating significant operational improvement and business growth.
