According to reports from Business Standard, Viyash Scientific has signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% stake in BioForLife Italia S.r.l. (BFL), a leading pet care company based in Milan, Italy. The acquisition is valued at ₹188 crore and is expected to close within three months subject to regulatory approvals. The transaction will be executed through Viyash's wholly owned subsidiary Alivira Animal Health (Alivira). As reported by Moneycontrol, the deal involves an all-cash consideration of EUR 16.975 million (₹188 crore) including deferred consideration. This strategic entry positions Viyash in one of Europe's largest and fastest-growing companion animal health markets. Italy ranks among the five largest animal health markets in Europe, with companion animal care emerging as the fastest-growing segment driven by increasing pet ownership, rising pet humanization trends, and higher spending on preventive and specialized veterinary care.
As reported by TipRanks, BioForLife brings a strong portfolio in nutritional complements, pharmaceuticals and rapid diagnostic tests, as well as emerging businesses in dermatology and ophthalmology. The company reaches more than 80% of Italian veterinary clinics, providing Viyash with immediate access to Italy's rapidly growing pet care segment. BioForLife Italia reported revenue of approximately €9 million (₹99 crore) in CY2025, as per Moneycontrol. This acquisition represents a significant step in Viyash's strategy to capitalize on the mega-trend of a growing Companion Animal Health Generics market, expanding Alivira's global Companion Animal Health business and strengthening its presence in the European pet care market. The combination of BioForLife's commercial reach and Alivira's product development capabilities creates a compelling opportunity to accelerate growth and expand the companion animal portfolio across multiple international markets.
According to TipRanks, Viyash plans to use BioForLife's commercial platform to launch Alivira's pipeline products in Italy and to roll out BioForLife's offerings across Alivira's markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. As reported by Viyash Scientific, the acquisition is expected to provide a platform for launching new products from Alivira's pipeline in Italy, while simultaneously providing opportunities to expand the BFL range to other markets in the Alivira group. This integration strategy enhances growth prospects and deepens relationships with veterinarians and pet owners across multiple international markets. The acquisition demonstrates Viyash's commitment to building a global footprint in veterinary pharmaceuticals and diagnostics through strategic European expansion.
According to Moneycontrol, Viyash Scientific reported FY2026 revenues of ₹3,420 crore, up 13.8% year-on-year, as merger integration benefits and operational synergies began reflecting in earnings. The ₹188 crore cash consideration demonstrates Viyash's commitment to expanding its pet care operations globally. The acquisition price reflects the strategic value of gaining access to BioForLife's established European market presence and strengthening Alivira's position in the international companion animal health sector. Viyash Scientific has reported strong financial performance with net profit rising 459.1% to ₹52.11 crore in Q4 FY26 and sales jumping 129% to ₹919.96 crore compared to the previous quarter. For the full year, net profit rose 663.48% to ₹177.28 crore with sales increasing 13.75% to ₹3,420.31 crore in FY26. As reported by Moneycontrol, the transaction comes shortly after SeQuent Scientific officially rebranded itself as Viyash Scientific Limited following a broader merger and corporate integration exercise, with the PE firm Carlyle Group backed Viyash now operating as a vertically integrated pharmaceutical enterprise spanning active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulations and contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) services across both human and animal health businesses.
