Travel Food Services Ltd reported mixed second-quarter results for FY27, with consolidated net income declining 10.6% quarter-on-quarter to ₹95.77 crore despite operational improvements. According to the latest financial data, total revenue fell 5.11% sequentially to ₹355.89 crore from ₹375.05 crore in Q1FY27. However, diluted normalized earnings per share improved 4.46% to ₹7.26 compared to ₹6.95 in the previous quarter. The sequential decline reflects the normal seasonal patterns typical in the travel retail sector, with Q2 traditionally being a weaker quarter compared to Q1.
Despite the sequential decline, several operational metrics indicated improvement during Q2FY27. Total operating expenses decreased 1.44% quarter-on-quarter to ₹258.99 crore from ₹262.77 crore in Q1FY27, while selling, general and administrative expenses fell 12.72% to ₹59.03 crore from ₹67.63 crore. Net income before taxes declined 6.40% to ₹123.91 crore compared to ₹132.38 crore in the previous quarter. The company's EBITDA margins contracted 308 basis points to 35.8% in Q1FY27, partly due to higher employee and other costs from newly commissioned outlets, though management noted that existing terminal outlets typically take 12 to 18 months to reach normalized profit levels.
TFS maintained its aggressive expansion strategy during the quarter, expanding its network to 541 Travel QSR outlets and 39 lounges across 21 airports as of June 2026, including the launch of operations at Noida International Airport in June. According to Investing.com, TFS added 87 Travel QSR outlets and 2 lounges over the past 12 months, taking the total brand count to 153 brands including in-house concepts, regional favorites, and internationally acclaimed brands. The company maintains a commanding 30% market share in the Indian Airport Travel QSR market and 45% in the Indian Airport Lounge market based on FY26 revenues. TFS maintained its debt-free status with a consolidated cash balance of ₹9,698 million as of June 30, 2026, providing substantial financial flexibility for continued expansion.
Trading activity reflected investor caution following the Q2 results, with sell orders outpacing buys, with 57.7% of the order book on the sell side. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹1,385 and a low of ₹1,340 during the session, with traded volume at around 0.60 lakh shares and a traded value of approximately ₹8.10 crore. The stock trades at a price-to-earnings multiple of 37.77 and has a total market capitalisation of approximately ₹18,003 crore. Despite the current decline, the stock has outperformed the Nifty 500's negative return of 1.24% year-to-date, having hit its 52-week high of ₹1,470.90 just a week ago on August 7 and remaining up nearly 18% year-to-date.
