Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced its partnership with the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) to modernise and future-proof DGCX's market infrastructure through implementation of a next-generation integrated trading, clearing and surveillance solution. According to reports from The Economic Times and The Hindu BusinessLine, this transformation programme was announced on September 15, 2026, and will provide DGCX with a more flexible technology foundation to support future growth, improve operational efficiency and accelerate the development of new products. The partnership aims to strengthen DGCX's ability to respond to the evolving needs of regional and international market participants across established and emerging asset classes.
As part of the agreement, TCS will deliver a world-class trading, clearing and surveillance platform by integrating multiple TCS solutions including TCS BaNCS™ for Market Infrastructure for central counterparty clearing, Quartz™ for Surveillance to monitor and detect market manipulation, fraud, and abnormalities, and TCS BaNCS Securities Trading to help market participants trade across assets. As reported by The Economic Times and The Hindu BusinessLine, the platform will also include TCS's Quartz Gateway for industry-standard market connectivity, combined with generative AI-powered reporting, analytics, and decision-making, along with exchange trading and matching from a global exchange partner. The platform will support DGCX across energy commodities, currencies, equities, bullion, and precious metals, with room to expand into crypto and tokenised assets. These solutions are part of BFSI Products and Platforms, a strategic business group within TCS that empowers financial services and insurance organisations to achieve superior customer experience and operational transformation.
Shares of TCS surged 5.19% to ₹2,315 on the NSE by mid-morning Tuesday, emerging as the top gainer on the NIFTY TATA 25 CAP index, which itself rose 0.96% to 14,145.15 as of around 11.35 am. The rally came on the back of TCS announcing the DGCX partnership, with the positive market response reflecting investor confidence in TCS's strategic partnerships and technology capabilities in the financial services sector. TCS reported consolidated revenues of over US$30 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.
The Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) operates as the Middle East's digital marketplace where futures and options contracts of precious metals, hydrocarbons, currencies and equities are traded. As reported by The Economic Times and The Hindu BusinessLine, DGCX owns and operates the region's largest and only multi-asset clearing house, the Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC). The partnership builds on DGCX's recent momentum, including strong trading volumes in 2025 and the launch of innovative products such as the Gold Spot T+0 Contract – the GCC's first same-day physically settled spot gold product offered on a regulated exchange in June 2026. The solutions provided by TCS will support DGCX's range of derivatives products across energy commodities, currencies, equities, bullion and precious metals, while providing the infrastructure for continued product development and expansion into emerging asset classes such as crypto and tokenised assets. Designed for scale and flexibility, the platform will support DGCX in bringing new products to market more efficiently while strengthening the infrastructure supporting its existing markets.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DGCX, emphasised the importance of infrastructure upgrades, stating that the exchange is upgrading its infrastructure so members have the risk management tools and connectivity required to trade with confidence. He noted that the partnership with TCS would strengthen DGCX's offering across energy, currencies, equities and precious metals, while increasing its capacity to introduce new products. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, he said: "Building on DGCX's recent momentum, including strong trading volumes in 2025 and the launch of innovative products such as our Gold Spot T+0 Contract, we are advancing our infrastructure to ensure our members benefit from the risk management tools they need to trade with confidence. Our partnership with TCS will build the technology foundation for the next stage of our growth." R. Vivekanand, President of BFSI Products and Platforms at TCS, highlighted that financial market infrastructures need to balance innovation with resilience, security and operational robustness. He added that the combined TCS BaNCS, Quartz and partner solutions would help DGCX build a modern and scalable platform capable of supporting growth, product innovation and next-generation asset classes. The BFSI Products and Platforms group supports some of the world's leading financial markets with intelligent, resilient, and interoperable ecosystems, providing end-to-end service and solutions.
